It was 7am when I woke up to my phone buzzing like crazy on my bedside table. I groaned before turning over and picked it up. My screen was full of unread messages and missed calls from Michael.

2 MISSED CALLS

I laughed aloud as I scrolled through his texts. Before I got out of bed, my phone buzzed again.

“Hello?” I whispered, my morning voice cracking a bit. I hadn’t been up this early since school. I wonder what Michael was up to…?

“Hey you’re up!” Michael yelped into the phone. “You’ve got 7.5 minutes to get ready or I’m climbing through your window and dragging you out…even if you’re naked! Time starts now!”

“What is this, Saw?” I giggled.

“No times for jokes! Times ticking.” He laughed before hanging up.

I didn’t want to risk Michael climbing in my window with me half dresses, so I quickly grabbed a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and ran into my bathroom.

I walked out of my bathroom mid-yawn to find Michael sprawled across my bed. “Ya know, you should probably keep your window locked… anyone would crawl in here.”

“Yea, well I’m on the second floor… I don’t really expect anyone to be crawling up the side of the house unless it’s Peter Parker coming to take me away!” I laughed.

Michael smiled. “I’ll be sure to bring my Spider-Man costume next time.”

We quietly walked downstairs hoping not to run into my mom. Luckily she was still asleep. I ran into the kitchen and quickly scribbled a note saying that I was out again with friends. Michael greeted me in the doorway and we took off.

-

“Did you sleep at all?” I questioned looking at Michael who was wearing the same clothes as the day before.

“Nope…” he replied, keeping his focus on the road.

I slightly raised an eyebrow, leaving me gaze on him. “What did you do then?”

“Drove.”

“All night?” I asked.

“Eh mostly.”

I was confused by Michael’s late night outing, but it wasn’t really any of my concern, I barely knew the kid.

“Oh… soooo where are we going today?! And why so early?”

“If I told you, I’d have to kill you.” He smiled.

“Fine.” I said slumping back into my seat and closed my eyes. It wasn’t long until we pulled into the drive through at McDonalds.
