Sapphire's P.O.V

The craziest part about today wasn't the fight between my mate and father or the fact that i was the Luna of this pack with powers to protect them but that after all the fighting, one of the packs females was so stressed that she went into labour.

I'd seen her around the pack grounds a few times and even at school but never spoken to her. When i'd heard that there was a baby being born i jumped at the chance to ask Bennet if i could visit the female.

"No!"

I just stood there with a frown at the answer i'd been given, there was no consideration the moment i asked he answered without thought.

"Why not? You didn't even think about it" I whined and pouted like a little child but i knew it wouldn't get me anywhere, anytime soon.

"You know you're cute when you pout baby? I'm saying no becuase you don't even know her and it's wierd for a stranger to be there" He states in a matter of fact kind of way.

"The doctors are strangers" I mumble with my childish pout still on my face.

"Touché"

I smirked and watched him doing his daily push ups, well he said they was daily but i think he was just trying to pull my attention off the female in labour.... it almost worked, almost.

While he wasn't looking i snuck out the room and headed towards the pack clinic which wasn't too far from the pack house. The clearing in the forest was rather large and there was houses for high ranking members of the pack but Bennet and I chose to stay in the pack house, for now atleast.

I slowly walked in and immediately was greated by the pack doctor and nurse which was kind but i wish i wasn't treated like royalty. They led me into the room where i saw the brown haired woman panting and sweating but she smiled when she saw me.

"L-Luna? Wh-What are you doing here?" She managed to get out even though it was clearly hard for her.

"I wanted to be here to support you, plus i love babies" I smile and walked over to her, sitting beside the bed.

"Where's the father?" I asked softly when i noticed that the doctors and i were the only ones here.

"Alpha sent a team to a nearby pack last week, my fiancé offered to go but Alpha contacted him this morning so he could be home for our baby" she mumbled.

I frowned and hoped that the father would be here for the birth of their child, it would be sad if he missed the birth of their first child. I didn't see any other babies or children so i just guessed this was their first.

"So, what's your name?" I decided i'd try and be friendly to try and take her mind off the pain.

"Chloe" She smiled softly as she told me and i could tell she was definately my kind of person.

"I'm Sapphire"

As we finished the name exchanges the door opened and i turned to see a very disspleased Bennet.

"Before you get mad, did it really take you this long to notice i was gone?"

"No! You asked Asher, my Beta, to stall for you so you could spend more time here before i arrived"

"Oopsies"

I was always very deceptive when i wanted something, not wanting to upset or hurt Bennet but desperately wanting to meet this female and her child, possibly even her mate if he got here.

"I told you it's wierd fir a stranger to be present" He states with that stern look that seemed to get my motor running so i looked away slightly.

"The doctor's are strangers" I heard Chloe say and a smile crossed my lips as i looked at her.

"That's exactly what i said" I giggle and look at Bennet, needless to say he was still unimpressed.

"Women" He scoffed and sat in a chair across the room, just far enough away so he wouldn't hear our conversation, well he probably would with wolf hearing.

We sat and talked for a little while before she started screaming in pain and i knew the baby was on the way but there was still no sign of the father.

I was getting anxious and scared that he wasn't going to make it even though Bennet assured me that he would be here befire the birth, not that i had no faith in him i just didn't see it happening.

As the doctors told her to push and the baby's head started to appear the doors busted open to reveal a male that was heavily panting and clearly looked exhausted. He had short brown hair and immediately walked over to his mate to help her.

After a tough couple more hours the baby's crys filled the room and i smiled as i watched the couple with their new child. They even allowed me to hold him for a few minutes while she slept and he got some coffee.

"Ben, i want one" I look up at him and smile brightly.

He shakes his head and rolls his eyes slowly. "You say this now but when it's waking up every hour of the night you'll regret it" he states.

"No! I'll just make you go deal with it" I smirked

"Who said it was mine?"

"Really? Of course i want your child" I rolled my eyes at his idiocy.

"Good" I heard the words in my ear as he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind. "Of course i'll be here before you even go into labour" 

The male looked up at him with a glare and a growl. "Excuse me! Like i had a choice to be here when i was miles away" he stood up, getting angry. Luckily i had the baby.

Bennet and the male approached eachother, stopping at the end of the bed that Chloe was asleep on. I closed my eyes and prepared for this child to become fatherless but when i opened my eyes they were hugging and laughing.

"Did you see the look on her face? God she was scared" The male laughed and walked over, taking his son.

"Yes i did" Bennet walked back to me and smirked with a wink.

"Assholes, i thought you was gonna kill him for talking back to you like that" I shook my head, their joke had my heart racing.

"No, Jordan is my oldest friend beside Ash of course" Ben chuckled.

After we all calmed down and Chloe woke up, Bennet and i got ready to leave since it was just past midnight. I thiught it best to give them privacy with their baby and we'd set up to see eachother the following day anyway.

"Wait! What's his name?" I asked as we reached the door to leave the clinic but i looked back at them.

Chloe slowly looked up from the little boy and smiled. "Baby Oscar"
