Kiss Me?

I awoke feeling extremely groggy, the air smelt funny, making me realise where I was. Once again, I was in a hospital.

"Hello Mr Neal"

I jumped at an unknown presence in the room, a nurse or a doctor, I couldn't tell.

"'ello" I managed to say, clearing my throat.

"How are you feeling" the blond doctor said, checking links IV.

"mmmph heavy?" Link couldn't put his finger on the weird feeling in his body, it wasn't pain.. Just heaviness and tiredness mixed with a  concentration issue.

"Ah yes that would be the high levels of morphine you're on. Don't worry we are monitoring you closely." The doctor said with a reassuring smile.

"W-why?" I blurted out.

The doctor sighed taking ahold of Links hand, "I know you can't remember anything right now, but it will start coming back to you soon.. Not all at once but it normally comes in flashes. Sometimes this can be hard for some people to deal with, the truth is I don't know what happened in the woodland you were in... I do however have confidence to believe this... it Was self inflicted." The doctor didn't know how link would react when he said it was himself that caused severe injury.

Links face was blank. As if he were absorbing the information into his brain very slowly, probably the medication the doctor thought.

" W-what injuries do i.. Have exactly?"   Link wasn't exactly shocked by the news, but when he was reminded he was injured, he wondered where... And how serious.

"Well.. You have a deep laceration to your abdomen and somehow, you didn't get tennis, you have over 16 lacerations on your back from a belt, you are dehydrated and you lost quite a bit of blood. Your on morphine though because of your back, whip wounds are extremely painful." She put the clipboard down and looked back up at link.

"O-oh" links face scrunched up from the memory pouring back onto his mind, it was happening all too quickly for him.

"No no no no i-I- it was my father!! C-Charles w-with the b-belt and um oh god - W-what if he c-comes b-back!?"
Links breathing was now erratic and the heart monitors started to Speed up.

"Mr Neal! Calm down, your in a hospital.. W-we are going to have to sedate you if you don't calm down!"
The nurse struggled to hold links arms as he thrashed around in panic, she was just thankful he was drowsy from the morphine.

After about 5 minutes of panicking, Link seemed to start calming down and his movements got less harsh, though, his face started twitching to the side.. And then his limbs started twitching. Link was starting to seize up, the nurse completely in shock she turned him onto his side as he began to fully convolse and foam from his mouth the discomfort was clear as his muscles tensed and relaxed over and over again.

The nurse pressed the call button and a male doctor came in to the situation.
"Oh crap what happened?!" He asked while stopping link from hitting anything hard as he shook wildly.
"I believe it's from stress doc, he was having a panic attack while remembering what happened.. I don't think his body could handle it." She said out of breath.
"I think he's calming now" The doctor said as he watched links eyes roll to the back of his head but then his body falling limp. Links breathing began to slow and a quite weeziness was heard.

"You know he has serious mental problems?" The doctor said cleaning the foam from his mouth.

"No.. I didn't but I have seen the self harm, thats pretty hard to miss." the nurse frowned with sympathy.

"His Friend err Rhett or something is his carer and he should be here any moment.. I'm glad he wasn't here to see that. Oh and he's bringing his medication too poor guy." the doctor and nurse left the room to let link sleep after that ordeal.

Rhetts POV:

His skin was pale and he had dark bags under his eyes. This is not the link i remember.

His hands are small and cold in my warm ones. Little cuts and scratches laced his palms and fingertips.

I felt so guilty leaving link so vulnerable with none of his meds.

Suddenly I feel movement, just the tiniest twitch of link fingers and my heart starts to race with anticipation.

"Link?" I say with my wide eyes.

"Rheh?" Link moaned.

"yeah Linky its me rhett" I smiled

"Father.. Come - h-hurt a-an' ugh" a tear slid down my lovers cheek and I gripped his hand harder.

"No link your dad's North Carolina remember? He can't hurt you anymore." I tried to reassure him.

"Are.. Are you s-ure?" Link finally opened his beautiful eyes properly and looked me in the eye.

"100% baby" it felt hard for me to keep my tears in when he sounded like a child, " in three days you'll be out of here and we are going to start over okay? We can get a little house together and we can the kids back a-and we can have the dogs too! I have money saved up in my bank oh and hey we can even carry on with gmm! I got carried away with excitement, and link reached his arms out smiling, I was slightly surprised but I reached in too and we hugged tightly. This is what we both needed, each others touch.

"I love you Rhett." link was crying, but with happiness, and that's when I couldn't hold it anymore.
Tears flowed down my cheeks and laughed at how cliché this must have looked.

"I love you too link!" I sobbed into his shoulder.

"im never letting you go again you here me?" That was the truth, no matter what.

"Kiss me?" link looked up and asked.

I sure had missed this, I grabbed his cheek and pulled him in strongly.

Our lips collided desperately and link let out a small moan, I could feel his plump lips moving passionately. I bit his lip gently and he let out a little smirk, we kissed once more then pulled away.

"I feel alot better now." link blushed.

"me too.. We should do that more often" I winked and brushed my fingers through his soft dark hair.

Link sank back down into the pillow and closed his eyes, "I'm gonna sleep now.. D-dont leave me?" link asked, eyes still closed.

"Never linky, Never I promised." I too sank into my not so comfortable hospital chair next to links bed and fell asleep. I let the relief sink in too, that link was safe.

Safe with me.
