The Choice Series: Lost

The Coffee Shop

       "Hey what's wrong with your face Zack" said Adam pointing at my face "Oh I got punched by Josh" "What? How? When?" he asked "Please students take out your textbook and open up to page 230" said the teacher "I will tell your later ok Adam?" "Ok" he responded.

       A couple hours later in 3rd block, me and Adam went to lunch I got pizza and Adam got a burger then we found our table and we sat at the end of it. "So tell me why did Josh punch you Zack?" "It's because I told him in a way that Olivia does not need him and that she was SOMETHING without him then he got mad and he started to punch me" "Yep I can see that he started to punch you" he said pointing at my face. "But I am sure that was not the only thing wrong with your face" Adam said "What do you mean?" I asked "You were smiling a lot and I don't usually see people smile after they get punched in the face." 

       "I wasn't smiling at all so I don't know what you are talking about" I said with a grin "You see right now you're smiling what else happened with Josh?" "Ok I will tell you... I am going to meet Olivia after school" "Wait you're talking about Olivia Cooper the most beautiful girl in the whole entire school?" "Yep i'm talking about her" "Wow you're having a lucky day you just got a date with your crush" Adam said surprised "It's not a date she is way out of my league and yes I do have a crush on her but she will never like me" I said. 

       Then lunch finished and we went to our last block class then a couple hours later the bell rang and everybody went to there lockers I went to my locker and I took my backpack out and I put it on and closed my locker then I turned around and I saw Olivia standing right in front of me."Hi i did not see you there how are you doing?"i said nervously "I'm good are you ready to go Zack?" Olivia said"Yeah i'm ready so where are we going?" I asked "I'll tell you but let's go now because there about to close the school so come one!" she said running to the exit "Ok wait up."

       We walked few blocks away from the school and we crossed the street and then we went in a coffee shop called Mr.Coffee  we sat down in a table and we waited for someone to come get our order. "So what do you want to talk about?" I asked Olivia "I just want to get to know better the kid who stood up for me" she responded "What you don't want to know me better?" she said when I didn't respond. "Of course I do it's just weird that someone like you would want to get coffee with someone like me" "Someone like me what do you mean?" she said "You know..." i responded "Just because i use to be popular does not mean i can't hang out with other people" "I'm sorry i did not mean to judge you but everyone in school is afraid of Josh and his friends he treats everyone like trash" "That's true but everyone being afraid of Josh is a not true" "Um i am pretty sure everyone is afraid of him" i said "Zack if you were really afraid of him you would never have stood up for me like you did today" "Well i was afraid when i said that you were something without him in his face" "You can still be brave with fear" she responded when she said that i smiled.

       We were quiet for a couple minutes then the waiter came and got our orders and we waited again for a couple minutes then he brought our orders to our table i ordered green tea and Olivia ordered a milkshake "So where do you live Zack?" Olivia said after taking a sip of her milkshake "I live in court street" "Cool so do you have any brothers or sisters?" she asked "Nope i am a only child do you have any siblings?" i asked her "I have a sister she's 8" she answered "So Zack what kind of hobbies do you have?" "I really love reading also i use to do Taekwondo and archery" "What do you mean by i use to do all does things" " she said "Money problems but i also like cooking and i use to do snowboarding" "I have a question how do people read a book how is that fun?" Olivia asked "Well books can take you into different worlds and you connect with the characters and i just can explain it but it's just amazing....books are amazing they have helped me in a way" "Wow that sounds pretty cool so when did you start to read books" "I started to read books after my dad died that was my only way to escape my pain and the world" i said trying to not tense my muscles.

        "I am so sorry i didn't know" "It's ok you didn't know" "How old were you when you lost your father" she asked "I was 7 when i lost him" i said. Before Olivia could ask me another question my cell phone rang it was my mom "Hello mom how are you doing?" i said nervously because i forgot to tell her i would be home late "Zack are you with Adam?" my mother said with a dry voice "No why? What's wrong" i said "Adam is missing" she said.
