Never Knew,I Needed A Hero

I sat in my house alone, I knew I wouldn't be alone too much longer. I knew Kurt, Krist and Dave would be over soon bugging me but in a good way.

"Claire are you in there?" I heard Kurt's voice coming from the other side of the door.

"Yeah come on in, the door is open." I called from where I sat in my living room. Moments later the door opened and in walked Kurt, Krist, and Dave.

"Hey Claire." The trio said as the joined me in my small living room.

"How's it going guys." I said with a small smile.

"Good, we just wanted to come see our favorite girl." Dave said with a goofy grin. The others agreed. I just couldn't help but smile.

"So what do you want to do?" I asked the three of them.

"Well maybe just hang out here maybe watch some movies. Maybe listen to some music." Krist said with a giant grin.

"Sounds like fun to me." I said as I got up and grabbed to boxes from my room. One was full of movies and the other was nothing but music. I always felt really happy when I hung out with those three.

Moments later Led Zeppelin filled the room. I guess music was first like always but I didn't mind. They were my best friends my only friends at the time if I was being honest. We all sang along to the songs we knew. It felt just like it did as young kids listening to a record together for the first time.

"You know guys one day were gonna miss this." I said becoming more sentimental as the record played on.

"Yeah but right now let's enjoy the moment." Kurt said with a grin. His smile and the things that he said are what always stuck out to me about him.

So that's exactly what we did. We all sat around laughing and aiming. Hell we even acted like jackasses a few times. That's just how the four of us were when we were together in the same room.

"God is it really one in the morning." I said with a laugh and a sigh.

"I guess it is." Kurt said with a laugh. We never did make it to watching movies that night but we did have a lot of fun.

"You guys can stay here tonight if ya want cause I know it's late." I said throwing them all a smile. They quickly agreed. Kurt and Krist fell out pretty quickly. Kurt was curled up on the couch and Krist was spralled out on the floor. Dave and I still sat up talking.

"Claire can I ask you something?" Dave said as we sat across from each other drinking coffee at 2:30 in the morning.

"You know you can ask me anything you want Dave." I said with a small laugh.

"Do you ever wonder what life would be like if the four of us had never met?" Dave asked. His question had caught me off gaurd.

"Yeah sometimes but I try not to think like that though." I said losing my the momentary grin that had crept onto my face. Everything was so simple then, what I wouldn't give to have that kind of simplicity back now.
