February, 1990

That morning was slow going for me considering all the coffee with Dave the night before. Kurt and Krist were still passed out on the floor. Dave was sleeping on the chair.

I decided that I was going to make food, I knew they would wake up when the smell of food came from the kitchen. I started making eggs among other things to go with them. Before long I could feel I was no longer alone in the kitchen. I turned around to see Dave smiling at me.

"Morning Dave." I said giving a quick smile before turning back to cooking.

"Morning Claire, need any help?" Dave asked with a smile.

"Sure, if you wanna make the coffee and start the bacon that would be great." I said with a smile.

"I can do that." He said with a grin. We continued making the food.

"What are you two cooking?" Kurt said as he and Krist stood in the doorway to my kitchen.

"Food, the kind you eat. It will be ready in a few minutes." I told him unable to help the smile that made it's way onto my face.

"Smart ass." Kurt said with a chuckle as he an Krist walked towards the door. They probably went to go smoke a cigarette.

"Thanks for helping Dave." I said to him with a smile as we were getting food onto plates.

"You're welcome Claire." He said as he pulled me into a hug. When Kurt and Krist came in I took food them sitting in the living room. Dave brought mine and his out so we could eat with them.

"This is amazing Claire!" Krist said with a mouth full.

"Thanks but I had some help in the kitchen." I told him grinning at Dave.

We didn't say much else, instead we chose to eat in a comfortable silence. It was nice I felt like that was how I wanted to spend everyday.

"Claire?" Kurt said my name and I almost sounded like a question.

      "Yes?" I answered.

"I've got a question for you, I know that before too long we'll be going into studio to record. I also know a tour will be coming and I wanna know if you'd come with us when we leave for tour." Kurt said casually as he finished eating.

"Please." Dave said with a smile that reached his beautiful brown eyes.

"Alright I don't see why not." I said grinning at the three of them.

We didn't say much else after, instead we sat around watching crappy B-Horror movies. They were okay but we laughed more than we actually got scared. The time began passing and what felt like light speed.

"Well we should get going so we can practice. Wanna come watch Claire?" Kurt said as he Krist and Dave stood up.

"Sure, I've got nothing better to do." I told them with a smile as I stood up and we left my house and started walking. It was a typical night in Seattle, cold and dreary. However that was just the way that I liked it at that point in my life. I was extremely quiet the whole walk because I was thinking.

"You okay Claire?" Kurt asked because I hadn't said anything since we left my house.

"Yeah I'm fine, I was just thinking." I told him with a smile. Now it's just another memory gone.
