*Claire's POV*

I was taking Dave with me to go meet with my band Truth or Lie. I wanted him there with me because it had been years since I was in the band and part of the music. When we got there Rose had a giant smile and a hug for me.

"Claire it's good to see you!" Rose said.

"It's good to see you too Rose. I've missed you all." I told them smiling.

They seemed really happy that in light of what happened that I agreed to take the reigns again. I hadn't been the lead in so long that in some ways I forgot how. Yeah that's a scary feeling, knowing I forgot something that I shouldn't have. Lilly and Erin also see me pretty happy that I came back.

"Claire don't ever leave us again!" Erin our almost childlike rythym guitarist said as she hugged me.

"I'm not going anywhere Erin. I said I would do this and I meant it. Especially now that I'm just learning how to live again." I told Erin with a smile.

"What do you mean learning how to live again?" Erin asked looking at me with the eyes of a cute puppy.

"What I mean is, I left Alex. Remember I told you I was leaving for Seattle in late 1989? Well I met him we fell in love and then he became verbally and physically abusive." I told her, not quite able to look at her.

"Oh my god. Claire I'm so sorry that he did that to you." Lilly said as she hugged me. Erin looked like a broken child.

"I'm okay Erin. I promise. Oh and guys by the way this is my boyfriend Dave." I told them as I pulled Dave closer and he wrapped his arms around me.

     "Hello." Dave said smiling slightly.

"Claire is that Dave Grohl?" Rose asked me clearly having a hard time believing it.

"Yes it is, I've know Dave here since 1990. I used to hang out with Nirvana after I left Truth or Lie." I told them smiling sheepishly.

"Holy shit and now you're dating Dave Grohl?" Lilly asked in shock. Neither Dave nor I said anything. Dave just pulled me close and kissed me right there in front of God and everybody. I loved the feeling of the fact that he wasn't afraid to kiss me and hold me in public and felt even better because this was the way he always acted towards me. He never once acted like he was going to be violent and hit me.

"That is fucking cute!" Rose said with a larger than life grin on her face. I couldn't remember the last time that I had been this happy.

Practice seemed to go off without a hitch. That night we all decided to go out for drinks I sat there with Dave, Rose, Lilly, and Erin. This felt natural. I hadn't been with Rose, Lilly and Erin like that in a long time. I was also glad I brought Dave because I was still afraid of running into Alex again.

"You alright Claire?" Rose asked noticing that I looked like I was extremely nervous.

"Yeah... I'm fine." I said trying to stop my voice from cracking but failing.

"Claire, he ain't gonna come here if he knows what's good for him." Dave said as he pulled me close.

"Claire, Dave's right. There's too many people here who would do damage to him if he came here." Lilly said with an evil grin. One that I had seen on her face before.

*Dave's POV*

Claire was nervous and I knew why, so did her band but they didn't know that I'd already beat the shit out of him once. Claire was starting to calm down but I could tell She was waiting for something to go wrong.

"Dave!" Claire yelped as she pointed to the door.

There in the door he stood yet again. I wondered internally if he even learned any kind of lesson the last time. Claire went stiff as a rod next to me.

"Claire, I'm sorry for ever hurting you." Alex said as he approached us.

"Get the fuck out of here!" Rose said anger seeping through her voice making in sound raw.

"And what are you gonna do?" Alex asked smirking at her.

"Keep it up and you'll find out." Rose said through gritted teeth.

"Such big talk for such a small girl." Alex said smiling.

"Do you have anything better to do you miserable puke?" I said finally having enough.

"Really? I didn't know she needed a rockstar to fight her battles for her." Alex said to me getting more cocky as he spoke.

"She doesn't. I know she can fight her own battles but a real man isn't gonna let her." I replied the words coming out more venomous than I thought possible.

"Alex, it's done. I don't want you, it's over I'm with him." Claire said to Alex as she held onto my arm. I could tell it was taking everything in her not to cry.

"Claire, what does he do for you that I can't?" Alex asked her.

"He treats me better, he cares. He doesn't yell scream and be physical. He treats me like I'm worth something. You could never do that you lowlife piece of shit." Claire said her voice gaining confidence and an angry tone as she spoke.

The bartender by that point had enough and escorted Alex out of the bar at gunpoint. Claire seemed to relax just a little bit I could tell she was still on edge.

"Claire, that guy is a piece of shit. Just know we'll always defend you." Erin said smiling at Claire trying to get her to smile back.

"Thanks all of you." Claire said unable to help the small weak grin that appeared on her face.

I knew in that moment something had to be done about Alex to make sure he never came around again. I also knew that I had to be the one to do it. I just wasn't sure how I was going to do it.
