This World Burns Blue

Chapter 16

"What is our first move?" Sasha asked.

Haley paused and thought for a long while. "We need to go to the sea; but first we need Micayla." She explained.

Sasha nodded. "How do we manage to get Micayla on our side though?" He queued.

"It'll be easy, we both want the same things, to get Alex back." She replied while opening the front door.

He nodded and followed her out, moving beside her. "So we're going to Arynn's house then." He mentioned nervously.

Haley paused and sighed. "I'm sorry but we have to." She said, walking forward on the trail.

He clenched his fists and a thought of Alex snuck into his mind, before tears could form he pushed it away and kept walking, breathing in and out slowly as his tail swayed behind him.

The trip to Arynn's seemed like forever to both of them and when they arrived at her doorstep they both dreaded having to enter.

Before Haley could even lift her hand to knock the door it opened with Alex standing there, his expression numb.

"Yes Haley?" He said.

Her eyes widened in surprise. "How did you-" he cut her off.

"I saw you coming. I saw everything and I know your plans." He said in a monotone way.

She was shocked. His ability is growing stronger... she pondered. "Then you know why we're here." She said.

He nodded and allowed them to enter. "Arynn is away right now. I will take you to Micayla." He stated, leading them to the room at the end of the hall.

Inside was Micayla curled in fetal position, when she noticed someone enter she looked up and pulled at the collar around her neck that was connected to a lease tied to the bedstand.

Haley and Sasha ran to her side. "What happened?" They asked in unison.

Micayla shook her head quickly and her eyes were wide with fear, she pointed behind them, trying to warn them of something.

When they turned they saw Alex standing there with a razor.

"She cannot speak. I have cut out her tongue and I will cut out yours also." He said, his expression blank.

When he began to step towards them Sasha got up and tackled Alex, pinning him down. "Haley, take Micayla and run!" He stated.

She nodded and undid the collar before lifting Micayla up and gripping her hand tight as she literally dragged her down the hall.

Once Sasha knew they were gone he stared down at Alex, tears brimmed his eyes. "Alex please, this isn't you...just put the razor down and kiss me." He stated.

Alex's eyes widened at the words and a small thud could be heard with the razor hitting the ground. "I can't-"

He was cut off by Sasha's lips and though he couldn't feel it he knew what was happening.

Suddenly the who world halted for them both and black surrounded them- literally. Sasha lifted up from Alex and looked over to see a girl in all blue standing there.

She didn't say anything. Instead she leaned down and gently kissed Sasha.

"This is for saving my sister's life..I'm sorry I can't make it last forever." She whispered.

And then she was gone.

Sasha didn't know what she did but

suddenly he was dragged down by Alex again.

There was a loom of pure joy in his bloodshot eyes. "I can feel you!" he exclaimed.
