I got out of the cab at the apartment complex, and got my suitcase out. As I walked up the stairs to my floor, someone yelled , "Boo!"
"Ahhh! Oh... It's just you," I said noticing Nathan was standing behind me. "I thought you had a recording session today?"
"Yeah, but I came home early to see you!" I saw a glint in his eyes that I didn't trust. "Come on," he says pulling me towards his apartment.
"I'm sorry, but I have to check in with my mom first. Want to come with?"
"Sure!"
"Before we go in though, are you okay Nath?"
"Great!" he said smiling. I know that smile- it's the one I use to try to pass of being ok. Just then the door burst open.
"Em!" My mom was exploding with happiness. "I'm so proud of you! How was it? Did you make any friends?" I guess I'd talk to Nathan later.
"Um, thank you, fun, yes, and I missed you too!" The conversation continued for a minute, but me having called my mom nightly, there wasn't much to discuss.
"Hey, you ready to go?" Nathan asked after a few moments of silence.
"Give me a second," I said, "I have to get into something that's not been traveled in." He nodded. I changed and he began pulling me out the door. "Where are we going?" I laughed. He just pulled me across the hall. As we walked in, I noticed there was a little table set up in the living room. It had a lit candle, and there was food set out.
"Nathan, this is amazing," I gushed giving him a kiss. He just smiled and pulled out my chair for me. What a gentleman! Wait a minute...
"Nathan, is something happening? What's wrong?" I questioned, then narrowed my eyes in suspicion, "what did you do?"
"We, well, we have to go on tour for a few weeks, and I um..."
"Nathan, SPIT IT OUT!"
"I'm going to miss your graduation," he finally admitted.
I laughed and he looked freaked out. "Did you really think that through? You wouldn't be ABLE to come to my graduation. Remember, famous member of a band? I don't want you getting mobbed. We'll celebrate after you get back!" I was laughing, and by the end he was too.
"Good, I'm glad your not so needy you need me to go everywhere with you! Not many girls are amazing enough to be okay with you missing their graduation."
"Aww... Thank you!" We ate dinner in peace and just enjoyed each other's company. After dinner we went and curled up on the sofa and watched tv. By that, I mean it was on in the background while made out.
"Come on," Tom said. Crap. I shot up, but Nathan pulled me over to his chest. "I thought you said you were 'sick' baby Nath!"
"Well, if I have the correct time on my phone," Nathan said, pulling his phone out, "you should be at the studio for another hour."
"Uh, I um..." Tom went upstairs, looking flustered.
"Seriously Nath, the only thing I care about is that I'm not going to see you for two weeks, but I'm not going to get in the way of your dream. You go and enjoy yourself, we'll just talk on the phone nightly!"
"If you had a Twitter I could message you..." Why? Each of the boys had tried, at least once, to convince me to get a Twitter. If they hadn't badgered me, I'd probably have gotten one. Nathan was giving me puppy eyes. Crap. Don't give in... Don't give in...
"Fine! Set me up an account!" Well, so much for not giving in. "I don't know how Twitter works though..."
"Yes! I'll teach you!"
Great... I spent the next two hours setting up an account, learning how to ‘Tweet’, developing a small group of followers of people who saw me on The X Factor, having Nathan tweet to ‘follow @EmmatheSingerOfficial’, my followers reaching a few hundred thousand, glaring at Nathan, and getting a hundred mentions. We went and saw that #EmmahastheXFactor was trending. I glared at Nathan again as I saw he had started it. I didn’t want to be famous on Twitter. One new follower… was that Jessie J.?!?
“Now,” Nathan said, “we can keep in contact.”
