"The winner for season seven is... not Danielle and her girls. You came in third, good job! Let's have one last performance..." We got cued that the cameras were off of us, and running through a few seconds of pre-recorded footage before they would perform, then we'd have their whole performance and another set of commercials.
"Wait," Amy said, "that means one of us got second, and the other one won!"
"Hey, I'm happy no matter what."
"I'm happy, too!"
"How are things with your boyfriend?"
"They're going very, very well," she said, her eyes gleaming, "how about you and the baby?"
I grinned, "He's a perfect gentleman. I don't think I could say something bad about him if I sat here all night and thought about it."
"I think I'm the happiest girl on the face of the earth."
"No, that will be you in about twenty minutes when you win."
"No, I think you'll win." We had this argument a lot. Finally, we were called back onto the stage.
"And... the actual season seven winner is... Amy Burgess!" I ran over and hugged Amy.
"Good job," I whispered in her ear. She deserved this. I was happy for her.
"I won... oh my gosh, I won!"
"Congratulations Amy! You have The X Factor!" We started squealing.
"Emma, why don't you get ready to perform, while we show some highlights from this season!"
"Okay, and I'd just like to say thank you to everyone who brought me this far, it's been an amazing experience."
I performed and exited the stage to find Amy, frantically being changed and having new makeup applied. She looked like a deer in headlights.
"You go out there, and show them that they picked right!" She nodded, and walked onstage.
"Ladies and gentlemen, you're season seven winner!" She sang and rocked it. She had so much talent!
"Excuse me," a man said approaching me, "I'm a producer and was wondering if you are interested in being signed."
"Yes," I answered, shocked. I was given a business card to call tomorrow. Wow. It didn't matter that I didn't win; I was still hitting the big time!
There was a big VIP Party that the top three finalists and other stars were invited to. Needless to say, The Wanted had been invited. I wasn't breaking my only one drink rule, knowing I'd be carting everyone home. We partied until the early hours of the morning and finally, were the last ones to leave.
"Wahoo! I'm on a tilt-a-whirl!"
"No, you're not Nath, you're just completely pissed," I responded giggling. The other guys had actually left at random times so I grabbed Nathan and I a cab.
"You're really beautiful, Emma. I really love you. You're super special!"
"Nath, I appreciate that, but say it when you're sober and I'll believe you."
"What's the saying, drunken words are silly thoughts... No it's..."
"Sober," I filled in as we got out of the cab and I hauled him up to his apartment. "Night Nathan, see you tomorrow."
The next morning my mom was waiting with a big stack of M&M pancakes. Oh, she must think I'm upset about not winning...
"Mom, I'm okay. One of my best friends won, and I was approached by a producer who I need to call..."
"Oh sweetie! I'm so proud of you! Come help me eat these pancakes, then call your producer!"
"Well, if you insist," I said grabbing half of the huge stack. We ate and chatted, before I called my... producer. Wow, I still couldn't get over that word.

I apologize for this crappy chapter, I'm tired and My excuse is that I may have appendicitis. I appreciate you reading, and check out my other story, Discovered.
A trip to the grocery store. That is all it took for Erin to be whisked away into the world of fame. Moving to a new country, recording an album, and going on tour, they're all just part of what lies in store for her. Stardom is only the beginning...
