Harry's POV
I pulled the range rover into Liam's large driveway, gravel flying up behind the tires. Alyssa had been silent the whole drive, holding my hand anxiously. She was scared, I wasn't stupid. I knew her, and as good as she was at hiding it, she couldn't hide it from me. I went along with it though, knowing she didn't want to be called out.
We both sat there a moment in silence, neither of us moving. She kept her gaze looking down at her small hands playing with my one large one. There was no sound except for the deep breathes coming from both of us.
"You okay?" I asked.
She nodded, eyes still on our conjoined hands.
I pulled her closer to me and kissed her forehead reassuringly. When I pulled back, I saw a small smile on her lips, making my own face light up.
"Let's go, princess."
I got out of the car, pulling Alyssa against me tightly. As soon as I stepped into Liam's house, I could feel the tension. All the guys were there, Zayn, Niall, Louis, Liam, and Chris. They were all sat around the counter in the kitchen. When we walked into the oddly quiet room, all eyes shifted to us.
"Let's get this over with."
All the guys turned to look at Chris, but his eyes were directly on mine.
"I'd rather talk to Harry first." He said.
One by one, the guys stood up and left the kitchen, not a word coming from them. I kept Alyssa tucked under my arm, holding onto her like she could disappear any second.
"Um, alone." Chris said, his eyes glaring at Alyssa and making me want to punch him right there.
She went to shuffle from my grasp, but I pulled her back. "No. She stays with me."
"Don't make this difficult." He said.
I felt a small hand push gently against my chest and I looked down to meet Alyssa's dark brown eyes. "Harry, it's okay. I can just go sit with the guys."
I looked between Alyssa and Chris for a moment, deciding. Finally, I reached down to kiss her lips sweetly, more to show Chris she was mine, then let her go. I felt like I was watching my world walk away as she rushed into the other room with the guys.
I turned back to Chris. "This better be fucking good."
He nodded. "It is, sit down."
I took a seat in one of the tan bar stools and faced him.
"I didn't want Alyssa to hear this because I didn't want to scare her."
I felt my heart drop.
"Jonathan has a plan. He's smart, he knows you hardly leave her alone, but he also knows how your work goes. Basically, he got Eli to get your schedule from Marcus and found when you need to leave town again. He plans on taking her then. And, he knows how you are, and if you know where she is, you'll come to get her."
My hands were clenched in tight fists. I watched Cris took a breath before continuing. "It'll be a trap, he's going to get you there and make you watch while he kills her. Then he'll injure you somehow and leave. He wants you to suffer emotionally. He wants you to have to go the rest of your life picturing her death."
With that, I broke. My fist came slamming hard down onto the table and my head fell into my hands.
"I think you should get her out of here. Soon. Marcus plans on you leaving town again in a week. You should leave now."
