Everything in me was hurting. My head, my arms, legs. Everything. But the worst was a burning pain ripping through the skin of my stomach like fire.
My eyes were sealed shut and the only noise I could make out was the beeping of a machine somewhere near my head, and slow, steady breathes.
I had no idea where I was. No recollection of how I got here (whatever "here" was). And no understanding of what had happen around me. I felt lost.
I heard a small click followed by footsteps and two muffled voices.
"How's she doing?" A familiar, deep voice asked.
"She keeps crying in her sleep. It's killing me to see her like this." I knew that voice anywhere after having to spend a week in his presence. Louis.
It was completely silent for a moment, even the machine seemed to slow down in the moment of thought.
"She's going to be lost without him."
Those words conjured something up in me. A brief memory- or thought maybe- of a warehouse. And, a fight?
"I know Lou. How are we going to tell her? It'll break her heart. I can't get the sound of her screaming for him out of my-"
"Stop." Louis interrupted, and I could practically see his hand raised at who I supposed was Liam, as a dramatic gesture. "That was the worst thing I've ever seen. "
There was another moment of pause before Liam spoke again. "I don't know if we can do this. She's going to be a mess without him. She wouldn't even eat that whole week he was gone for business."
"Alyssa's like my sister now. And I promised Harry that I would look after her if anything ever happen to him. I'm not breaking my promises Liam."
Harry.
That was it. Harry. I needed to find him and see if he was okay. Why wasn't he here? He never leaves my side. I knew I had to open my eyes and see him. I made it my mission.
"Shh, she just moved, I think shes trying to wake up." Louis said before I felt a dipping feeling on the bed and someone grabbed my hand.
"Lyss, can you hear me? I need you to open your eyes."
Louis' calming voice helped me to pry my eyes open with the little energy I possessed. Opening my eyes felt like a new born baby seeing the world for the first time. I examine every wall, every piece of furniture, and the two faces in front of me until I concluded I was in a hospital with Louis and Liam.
I looked up at Louis who was smirking down at me widely. "Hey, gorgeous."
I looked over at Liam who just gave me a sweet smile.
I cleared my clogged thrift before asking the only question that actually mattered to me. "Where's Harry?"
Liam and Louis shared a knowing look before turning back to me, their faces sad and nervous.
"You just woke up, why don't we talk later?" Louis said, pulling the cover on me up higher.
"No!" I yelled shoving the covers back off of me and hearing the heart machine go wild. "I need to know that he's okay!"
Louis took a breathe before nodding. "Just lay back down will you? It's not good for you to be getting this worked up."
I lay back onto the bed, deciding it was useless to argue.
Louis swallowed as he rubbed my arm and searched for the right words. When he started into a story instead of just saying he was fine, my heart dropped. "Do you remember what happen?"
