Today started out like shit. My alarm clock didn't go off, so I woke up late. Which resulted in not only I being late, but Em too since I was her ride. Luckily, she got one from her sister who was passing by the school on her way out of town. I on the other had had to hastily get ready and speed to school. When I got home yesterday, I knew I was going to be too tired so I took a shower last night before going to bed. I'm so glad I did since I needed time to do my homework that was due today.

I had three minutes to get to band before I would be counted late when I parked my car. Em had texted me saying Mr. Austin had gotten their early for once. The one day I'm late. Phillip was texting me like crazy asking where I was, and Tony just texted me once three minutes ago.

T65: Morning. Hope you enjoyed your sleep-in. I'll see you later. Love ya.

I entered the band room while Austin was in his office. By the time I had my stand and chair set up along with my instrument, the bell rang. Sighing in relief, I slowly closed my eyes. Hopefully Austin would be chill and not make us play first thing in the morning.

"So you woke up late?" Phillip asked for the billionth time as we made our way towards PreCalc. For some reason, he couldn't wrap that fact around his head.

"For the last time, yes!" I sigh as I sink into my chair. Thankfully, my PreCalc was in the same classroom as my English class which I had right after. Tony sat down on my left as Phillip sat on my right.

"Leave her be, bro. She's tired." Tony said to Phillip as I leaned my head down on the desk. It felt so comfortable, I could just... "Wake up, babe. Cat lady just walked-"

"Everyone take your seats!" A high, shrill voice screeched through the air. I inwardly groaned as I rose my head to come face-to-face with Mrs. Umbridge. "A little tired today, aren't we?"

I plaster on the fakest smile I could muster and retort, "Only of you."

She doesn't even feign hurt or shock anymore. Just smirks at my comment before walking away with a roll of her eyes. I make a face at her retreating figure before pulling my notebook from my bag. After not finding a pencil, I realize I left it on my desk. Before I can ask someone for one, Phillip places one on my notebook. I shoot him a smile and get to writing down the unimaginable amount of notes this crazy person makes us take.

By the end of class, my hand was cramping and I just wanted sleep. Please let Professor Snape just let us do a paper or worksheet. Now, I know what you're thinking: Harry Potter? Both my teachers are huge fans of Harry Potter that they changed their last names. The craziest part, they're married! How a wonderful, up-beat man who doesn't make me want to die could marry someone so cruel, lifeless, and uninteresting. I'm not sure how it happened, but it did, and there's nothing I could do about it. I don't blame Mrs. Umbridge though, Prof. Snape is hot. For a man in his late thirties.

"It's Monday, so I'll take it easy on you kids today." He said once everyone was seated. Em slipped in and sat down next to me while Phillip scooted over. She looked terrible. Everyone in the class brightened up at his comment, including Em and I.

"Thank god because I was going to work on homework this period." I heard Phillip mutter under his breath as Professor continued on with his instruction.

"Don't you have Study Hall right after lunch?" I ask him in disbelief. Why wouldn't he just work on homework then instead of a class?

"Because I promised Austin I'd help concert band with their music."

I didn't argue with Austin logic. You learn that early on. Whatever Austin says, goes. When I turned back my attention to Prof., he was seated and people were passing papers back. Tony answers my unasked question like he's reading my mind.
