When I woke up, Charlie was holding my hand and crying. I had a tube down my throat, which was incredibly uncomfortable and I couldn't talk to calm him down. The TV was on and Charlie's and my face flashed across the screen. I couldn't read the words rolling past the bottom so I sat there quietly wondering what had happened to me. Charlie looked up and saw my eyes half opened and half closed. He ran to get the nurse and was back soon after.
"Hello Ms. Davis! How are you feeling?" The nurse asked after she slowly removed the long tube from my throat.
"Fine, I'm tired." I said barely at an audible whisper. "What happened to me?"
"After the photographer had touched you, you fell into a frantic state. That caused you to go into a major panic attack. You've been in a coma for almost a week." Charlie said trying to hold back tears.
"Charlie, why are you crying? I'm fine. Aren't I?" I asked the nurse.
"Yes, you're fine. We just want to keep you overnight just incase." The nurse said as she walked out of the room quietly.
"Meryl, the only reason I'm upset is that I hate to see you hurt. I was put into that situation again. I was scared I was going to lose you. I can't lose you, Mer. You're my everything." Charlie said burying his head in his palms. At that exact moment, I realized that what I felt was indeed love. I then decided to take a giant leap of faith.
