Charlie's POV

I was happy that I had forgiven Meryl for what she had done. Earlier after I had left the hospital and calmed down, I decided to ask Meryl to marry me. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her and I couldn't wait another day. I drove to the nearest jewelry store and bought her the best diamond ring that suited her. After planning the romantic night ahead of us, I got Cheryl to go decorate and get everything set up. When I told her my plan, she almost cried. I was so confident yet so nervous to propose to the love of my life.

As I was in deep thought in the car, I felt Meryl tap me on the shoulder.

"Charlie? Where are we going?" She asked. God she was so beautiful.

"Dinner, on Mill Mountain. There's a special surprise for you up there." I smiled, knowing she wouldn't catch on to this one.

"Yay! The nurses said it's gorgeous up there, especially at around this time." I could see the sparkle return to her emerald green eyes.

"Okay we are here!!!!" I said about 10 minutes later as I helped Meryl out of the car. I led her to the overview of the Roanoke Valley, blocking her from seeing the romantic dinner I had awaiting for her.

"Wow this is really beautiful." Meryl said, snuggling into my arms.

"You ready to see that surprise?" I asked her after a while. She nodded and I led her over to the blanket on the ground. There were lights hanging from the tree branches and there were candles lit all around the blanket. There were also grapes, crackers, and Moscato wine; Meryl's favorite.

"Charlie, this is beautiful! I love you." Before I knew it, I was down on one knee.
