"Do you think you could talk to that girl on behalf of me?" Ashton whispered as he and Taehyung sat in Jiwoo's cafe. Taehyung would rather have been anywhere else after the events earlier in the week, but his friend was truly hooked on Jiwoo. Yet in an odd way. He acted different when he talked about her. Something Taehyung wasn't used to.

Taehyung rolled his eyes while staring down at his cup of coffee. "She's a freak don't worry about it."

"Then why was she at your place the other day?" Ashton asked quickly. "Are we hooking up with freaks now? Is it cause your dad cut you off?"

Taehyung gritted his teeth. "I didn't even come three feet near that witch." His mind fluttered back to waking up to the scent of her hair though. But he paused the memory right in its tracks. "Hey how do you even know about that!?"

Ashton glared back at his friend, "dude I crashed in the spare room that night."

"Oh shit.... so you heard all of that?" Taehyung murmured, his cheeks burning with embarrassment.

Ashton nodded while sipping his coffee. "Every last word. Even the ones at the ass crack of dawn."

"It's not like that," Taehyung was arguing before his friend could even point the finger.

Ashton chuckled, "yes it is."

"But you like her!" Taehyung tried desperately.

Ashton shook his head, "the truth is. I've been dating this girl. She's a psychology major... and well, she taught me a few things. Everything I do and say about Coffee Girl over there is to get into your head and make you realize those things about her. Because the fact of the matter is you are into her."

Taehyung's face was blank, then he murmured. "Damn I didn't think you had the brains for a dramatic scheme."

Ashton shrugged, "I'm full of surprises." He sighed, "any who, you need to show up to work tomorrow."

"I got the job?" Taehyung replied.

Ashton nodded, "and if you want to keep it you're gonna work your little ass off. Oh, and your mom told me to remind you about the dinner. Bring Jiwoo."

"She said that!?" Taehyung said quickly.

Ashton chuckled, shaking his head. "No, but I am. Take her, but first fix things between you two and get to know her."

Taehyung glanced over his shoulder at the counter where the little pastel haired girl was pouring a cup of coffee, while smiling and talking to a customer. "Yeah sure..." he murmured not being able to look away.

He stayed there, all afternoon, waiting for her shift to end so he could talk to her. She hadn't noticed him still sitting in the booth, not even when the cafe lights dimmed. But Taehyung was waiting and watching carefully as Jiwoo disappeared into the back room.

He didn't bother to move until he heard a loud clattering sound, and a thud. Like a body hitting the floor.
