Jess walked over to us trying to fake a smile. I could still tell there was something wrong by the look in her eyes.
"Heyy Anna" Jess greeted.
"Hey Jess" Anna said taking a step back.
"Don't worry I'm not out for blood anymore" Jess reasured. "And even if I was I wouldn't hurt you. If I did you might not feed me. Or worse, pee in my food" Jess added making everyone burst into laughter. Well, all except me. I was still wondering what the look in Jess' eyes was for.
Just then, Jess looked over at me and the smile instantly left her face and the strange look was back. It was almost as if the look was saying 'sorry'. Now I was really curious. I pulled Jess into the bathroom. I just had to know what was wrong.
"Ok Jess. I can clearly see something is wrong so what is it?" I questioned.
She just stood there staring at me with an almost scared expression. Now I was starting to get worried. Jess never keeps her mouth shut about anything. This must be pretty bad if she's keeping something from me.
"Jess just tell me. You know you can trust me" I begged her hoping she would tell me.
"I'll tell you later. This isn't the time. Right now lets just enjoy the rest of the day. When Alex drops you off I'll come with you and tell you then ok?" Jess said and I nodded and told her that was fine.
We walked out and Alex and Chris gave us questioning looks. "Girl problems" was the only thing Jess said and they just nodded.
"So are you guys gonna go find a seat so I can get you some food or are you just gonna stand here?" Anna asked in an amused tone. She always said the same thing when they came up and talked to her.
"You know sometimes I think your just trying to get rid of us" I said with a smirk on my face.
"What? Me? Never." Anna said in a sarcastic tone.
"I mean we would understand why you would want to get rid of Des but not the rest of us" Alex said grining his evil smile that I always hated.
"Ouch. That hurts. Really bad. Right here" I said pointing to my heart and wiped a fake tear from my face.
"Awww, Des. Don't cry you know I love you. See guys, now look at what you've done" Anna said while giving me a hug. I let out a loud wail and started fake bawling. They all came over and we had a big group hug.
It wasn't until we pulled away that we noticed everyone in the intire diner was staring at us like we were absolutily crazed. For anyone that knew me or my friends that was normal. Apparently no one in the diner knew us and just kept staring at us.
"Don't you know it's rude to stare?!?!?!" I yelled loudly like I was actually very angry. Everyone imidiatly turned away and went back to their own conversations.
We were all laughing our heads off as we walked over to our seats. We always sat in the same spot. The corner back part of the diner. It was more hidden so you couldn't really see or hear what we were talking about.
After we were finished with lunch we said bye to Anna and headed for the bowling ally.
When we arrived at the bowling ally, Alex parked in the closest parking space. He had always hated walking. He was always saying how someone should invent mechanical legs.
Once we got and payed for our bowling shoes, I set to finding a ball. My eyes spotted a light blue ball and I picked it up not even bothering to look at the weight. It was my favorite color and it didn't feel too heavy and not too light. I knew I would never come anywhere close to Jess' score since she used to be on the bowling team and was an awesome bowler.
The first game we played, well, to put it lightly, I sucked. I only got a score of 23. Bowling had never been something I was good at especially when Jess said I had to stop using bumpers.
Our final scores were Jess; 274. Chris; 243. Alex; 167. And of course me; 23.
I was made fun of the rest of the way to my house. Usually after we did something, everyone came back to my house to hang out. When we pulled into my driveway, everyone started to get out.
"Wait. Me and Des have some things to talk about and it might not be too pretty" Jess told them.
"Are we not aloud to hear it?" Alex asked her.
"Well I guess you can if its ok with Des" Jess said looking at me.
"I don't even know what shes gonna tell me so it doesn't matter to me if you guys stay" I said looking at Alex and Chris.
"Ok well lets go inside so I can tell Des what I found out" Jess said. I was starting to get a little nervous because of how Jess was acting.
Once we were in my room, I closed the door and me and Jess sat on my bed while Alex and Chris sat on 2 of the chairs I had in my room.
"Ok Des this is gonna be a little hard to tell you but I think you need to know" Jess said looking straight at me with a worried expression. I just stared at her waiting for her to continue.
"Well you know how like two days after Cole broke up with you he and Alexis were dating?" She asked and I nodded my head. I really didn't like how this conversation was starting. Alexis was the schools head cheerleader and the biggest slut in the whole town. I could never stand her and it just made it worse when I found out she and Cole were dating not even 2 days after Cole had broken up with me.
"Oh gosh I don't really know how to say this Des" Jess said.
"You've already started so now you have to tell me" I told her.
"I know, I know. Well..... wait where are the tissues?" Jess asked looking around my room. I pointed to where they were and Jess ran across my room and got them. By the time she sat down I was getting really impatient.
"Ok now I will continue" Jess told me." Again Des I don't really know how to say this so I'm just gonna say it. Alexis is pregnant...... and Cole is the father"
