The sight in front of me was one I never wanted to see... or even thought I would ever see. Demetry had bandages wrapped all over his body. He was hooked up to a bunch of machines. His skin looked pale and he was completely still.
He looked almost lifeless. He WAS almost lifeless. His heart rate was slow, he was in a coma, and he definitely looked bad. I walked over to him with tears streaming down my face. Unlike usual, I didn't try to fight the tears, I just let them fall.
I sat down in the chair by his bed and held his hand. It was so cold. 'Dear God, please don't let him die' I prayed to myself.
"Demetry please stay with us. Your strong. I know you can make it through this. Please, please, please don't go. I love you bro" I cried.
Never in my life had I felt so broken. All of my family is close but I've always been closest with Demetry. The thought of him dying is just a thought I can't think of. Still, the thought kept popping into my head. That just made more tears fall. I probably could've filled ten 5-gallon buckets by now. I tried blinking tears away but that just made more fall.
After being in there for about 10 minutes, I decided I should go out so someone else could come in. I got up, letting go of his hand and kissed him on the forehead. I walked out the door, down the hallway, and back into the waiting room.
The sight I saw wasn't one I was in the mood for. There were about 5 police men in the waiting room. Two of them were talking to my mom, two others were talking to George, and the last one was talking to Derek.
I stood there, mouth open and eyebrows furrowed. At first I was confused, then it all turned to anger. My mother had called the police on George! At a normal time, I would be all for it. However, at a time like this, it just infuriated me. I walked over to my mom filled with anger. The two police men and my mom looked at me.
"What the hell is going on here?!?!" I yelled looking at my mom.
"What do you mean sweetie?" my mom asked me with furrowed eyebrows.
"Why are the police here?!?!" I yelled, already knowing the answer.
"I called them to get rid of George" my mom explained.
"At a time like this?!?! What the hell is wrong with you?!?! Demetry is near death and you call the police just because you don't want him here?!?! That is the most selfish thing you have ever done! I don't want him here either but I wouldn't do this! I can't even believe you right now!" I yelled with more tears streaming down my face. She just stood there with her mouth open and tears forming in her eyes.
"Excuse me miss but you have no right to speak to her like that. Who are you?" One of the police officers asked me.
"I'm her daughter and you would do the same if you were in my situation so I do have a right to say what I want" I snapped at him.
"Destiny just calm down. Everything will be okay" The other police officer said. I turned around and saw Cooper standing there.
"Your a popo?" I asked him.
"Yes I am" he nodded.
"Well anyways everything won't be okay so don't even say that!" I shouted at Cooper.
"Destiny if you don't know how to be polite your gonna be grounded" My mom told me.
"Go ahead and ground me but first maybe you should go take a look at your SON! Or have you forgotten that's why were here?" I spat at her. Her facial expression showed hurt but I really didn't care. She didn't say anything, instead just walked away to go see Demetry.
