Chapter 13: Cousins and a Major Surprise

I woke up to the sound of Jacobs light cries. I was a really light sleeper so every little sound always woke me up.

I went to get up when I noticed an arm around my waist. I looked behind me and saw Chris still sleeping.

"Chris" I said trying to wake him up. He didn't wake up so I shook him lightly. "Chris wake up".

"Huh? What?" Chris said waking up. When he heard Jacob crying he sat up. I got out of bed and picked Jacob up out of his crib.

"I'll go make his bottle" Chris told me walking out of the room. I watched him walk out of the room then I looked back down at Jacob. I started rocking him lightly and softly singing to him.

"It's okay Jacob. I've got you. Your alright" I said in a baby voice.

"I got his bottle. Do you want me to feed him?" Chris asked me.

"No that's fine. You don't have to-"

"No really. I don't mind. I love kids" Chris told me.

"Okay" I said handing Jacob to him. Chris walked over and sat down on the bed and started feeding Jacob. I walked over and sat down next to Chris. He was talking to Jacob as he fed him.

"Well I never thought I would say this to guy but, your actually really good with babies" I told him with a smirk.

"Thanks? I think" he said making us both laugh.

"It was meant to be a compliment" I told him while laying my head on his shoulder.

"Being good with babies comes with having lots of little cousins" he said.

"How old are your cousins?" I asked him.

"Well first there is my uncle John and aunt Isabelle's kids. Tristan is the youngest. He's 7 months now. Trevor is his older brother. He's 2. Amy is next. She's 5. Then there's Max. He's 7 and a huge trouble maker. Then there's Lesley. She's 9 and is the oldest. Next there's my uncle Nick and aunt Ella's kids. Lexi is the youngest. She's 4. Then there's Hannah. She's 6. Next there's Jackson. He's 7. Then there's the oldest. That's Kenton. He's the oldest of all my cousins. He's 10. Next there's my uncle Jason and aunt Jordan's kids. There's Jack. "Wow. Just your moms side of the family is huge. Which is bigger? Your moms side of the family or your dads?" I asked him.

"My dads" He told me. My mouth dropped open.

"Close your mouth. You'll catch flies" He said chuckling.

"Sorry its just my family is pretty small so yours is huge compared to mine" I told him.

"Yeah well that's just my moms side of the family and my dads is even bigger" He told me.

"Well how old are your cousins on your dads side?" I asked him.

"Well there's my uncle Kyle and aunt Amelia's kids. Quinn is the youngest. She's 8 months. Then there's Peter. He's adopted and he's 11 months. Then there's Penny. She's 2. Mae and Eve are next. Their twins and their 3. Next is Heath. He's 4. Then there's Reed and Reece. Their twins and their 5. Next is Kent. He's 7. Then there's Winslow. He's 8. Last there's Aubrey. She's 9.
