"So, Ellie, a lot has happened these past few days, care to describe them for us?" The interviewer asks.

I pull my leg on top of my other and suck in a breath of air. It settles in my lungs like acid. Every word he says releases another breath of toxic air into my lungs.

"Well, as you know, as I left here my brother, Jen, and I got into a car wreck. These past few days have been really hard on every one. He has days where you aren't sure he is going to make it, then there are the days you are sure he will wake up. It all depends."

My black dress rides up as I lean back intently. He looks at me with his eyes, expecting more. I give him a look, and he finally looks away.

"Well, so how have you been? I see your cast hasn't been signed yet."

"Yeah, that. It is doing good and so am I. I didn't really want anyone to sign it because I like the color. Oh, and I get it off in two weeks."

"Well, that's good that you weren't to terribly hurt. What happened to your head? I know you posted a picture on Instagram with a bandage on your forehead."

"Oh, well, in the wreck a piece of glass cut my head. It was bad, but not bad enough to need stitches. They glued it. You can still see the scar right on my hairline."

I lean in for him to get a better view of my head.

"Ouch. How about Jen? Anything on her?"

"Nope, she cut her leg. It didn't even require any first aid. Luckily she was on the side of the car that didn't get hit."

"That's good. We only have a few more questions and you can be free to go  visit your brother. Now is he awake?"

"Actually he woke up last night. Then there was a complication, but now he is fine and resting up. He hasn't woken up again yet, or else my phone would be ringing off the hook." I laugh steadily, eyeing my phone next to me.

"There is also a rumor going around that Brooke Lancing hasn't come to visit yet. Is it true?"

"Actually yes, but she is flying in tonight. She was shooting a movie in Morocco and they needed her for filming for the past two weeks, but she managed to get a few days off to come and see him."

"Last time you were here, I asked you if they are dating. You said you could not tell, can you tell us now?"

"I can safely say that they are not dating. They were, but a few days before the crash they thought it was to awkward dating because they were too good of friends. So, yeah."

"What about you? Any men in your life?"

"Actually someone asked me to Prom last night. I can't say a name because I dont' know if he wants it out there, but yeah."

"Okay, well that is all the time we have for today. Have a safe drive and I hope to see both you and Caleb and Jen here soon."

I hastily agreed and waved goodbye and walked off set.

"Ready to go, Sweetheart?" My mom says, holding out my jacket to me.

"Yeah, let's get out of here. It brings back to many memories."

And that was it. I didn't have to lie anymore.
