The next week of school goes by in a blur. All I really remember is waking up every day and going to school. Then in the afternoon, going to the hospital to visit Caleb.

They took him off the machine that breathes for him, and some of his scratches are healed now. He looks less pale, and more tan. And I go there every day and say my short little line.

"Broccoli secretly has a crush on carrots," I say. Every day, I giggle as I say that.

Brandon keeps his line running to. Every day, though, he says it in a different voice. Like today, he said it with a British accent. Yesterday, he said it with a Southern accent.

I touch Caleb's hand, he feels warmer too. He is finally becoming a person again. I squeeze his hand, and Brandon gives me a bear hug from behind.

The door opens and the nurse comes in.

"Hey guys, what's new? I haven't seen you guys all week!" Casey says, going over to check his blood pressure.

"Not much, just school in the mornings and after school I spend all evening here," I say, chuckling a bit.

"How about you Brandon?" She asks, looking at her watch.

"Oh, just hitting the gym in the morning. I also do my college homework. Then I either pick her up and come here, or let Max drive her home then take Ellie here," Brandon says.

"That's cool. What are you studying to be?"

"A cop," He says, gripping the bedpost and leaning onto it.

"Oh wow, that's super cool! My brother is a cop, he graduated last year," Casey says, giggling.

"That's awesome," Brandon says, and Casey finishes up and leaves while she says goodbye to us.

"OOOHHHHHH, someone has a crush!" I say, poking him in the shoulder.

"She is really pretty, and nice too. But, I don't know," He says, shrugging.

"Ask her out! There is no harm! Just do it!" I say, practically begging him.

"Fine, if you really want me to. I will be right back."

I sit on the edge of Caleb's bed and watch as he exits the room.

He comes back a few minutes later with a very straight look on his face.

"How did it go?" I ask, standing up.

"She said her favorite color was pink, and she loved hearts and rainbows, and she said yes," He says, smiling like an idiot now.

"When's the date?" I ask.

"Tomorrow, after she gets off work at 2:00," He says, kneeling to get his phone that he dropped.

"2 in the morning or 2 in the afternoon," I say, jokingly.

He looks at me with a  bored face and I smile. He smiles too and they start to come around and say visiting hours are over. We pack up and head out. The drive home is the same, but we stop at McDonalds and get ice cream.

"Hello, welcome to McDonalds. What can I get you?" The magical voice of the drive through asks.

"Uh, just two hot fudge sundaes," Brandon says.

"Is that all?"

"Yes."

After we got our ice cream, we went home and ate it while we watched T.V.

My favorite T.V. show is The Big Bang Theory. No one else in my family likes it except Brandon, so we watch it when he comes home. We are watching the episode where Sheldon kisses Amy for the first time on the train. I always laugh at the part where Leonard finds out.

I turn away from the screen during the commercial. I look towards the door and imagine Caleb walking through it. His lopsided smile as he sees I am watching his least favorite show. He used to like it, but then we started watching it all the time, and he started to dislike it.

I flash back to reality as the show comes back on. Brandon fell asleep somewhere during the first commercial, and I stay awake until it ends. I click the T.V. off and head to my room. I brush my teeth and brush my hair.

I pull myself under the covers and check Instagram. Lots of people commented on Brandon's post to block and report this person. They are all good things though. Like one person said: 'Don't listen to her Ellie! She is just jealous that you are so pretty and have such a nice family and friends.'

I smiled all the way up until I fell asleep, happy that I had good people looking out for me.
