"Caleb. I missed you so much!" I sob into his shoulder.

"I know, I missed you too!" He says, his voice catching.

"You have no idea how crazy it's been lately."

"Actually I do."

"What," I look at him with a confused expression on my face. "How?"

"Ell, I could hear every word everyone said to me."

"Oh my god! Really?!"

"Yeah, I even heard you and Bran one day saying some crazy things. What were they? Oh yeah, something like: 'green grapes eat purple ones' and 'broccoli secretly has a crush on peas'?"

"Close, its tickle purple ones and has a crush on carrots," I laugh, looking at his face.

His cuts have healed, leaving one scar on the underside of his chin.

"So, mind explaining what happened to your arm?" He says, taking my wrist into his hand.

"I fractured it in the accident. I didn't want anyone to sign it because I wanted you to be the first one to."

"Really?"

"Yeah." It comes out in a low whisper.

"Can I sign it now?"

I laugh a little at the way his words slur when he said that.

"Sure."

"Do you have a marker?" He looks around his room for a sharpie.

"I have a silver one in my purse." I say handing it to him. "Here."

"Close your eyes," He instructs, uncapping the marker.

"Okay, fine."

A few minutes later, he tells me to open them. I look at my arm, which now has a small paragraph right in the middle. My eyes grow watery as I read, and I am forced to read it again because it is so beautiful.

Ell,

Thanks for being the best sister in the whole world. You didn't choose this life, you accepted it. I know this past week hasn't been the easiest, but I knew you could make it. I love you.
