Those Eyes

Man, those eyes.

They burn with the love and anger of a thousand men.

They go so deep into your soul.
I think galaxies could drown there.
Millions of stars swirling down,
Down,
Down.

The way they dilate when you're overwhelmed,
How they sparkle when you smile.

The way they go blank when you distrust,
How they open when you listen to my stories.

They were right, I guess.
The eyes really are the windows to the soul.

They glimmer and shift,
Constantly calculating.

Those eyes could end wars.

Oh, how they shimmer when tears arise.
How they transform into overflowing starry lakes.

Oh, those eyes, I love your eyes.
How did I ever live without those eyes?
