Carlos' POV
I'm almost done making dinner. Jane is helping Carson take a bath. Usually we switch off these duties like cooking because our duties at Auradon Prep and very tiring. Jane's head mistress in training and I'm the head of technology.
"Carlos, Carson is done. Is dinner ready?" Jane asked.
"Not yet, but soon though." I replied while stirring the soup.
Carson, my four year old son, ran into the kitchen with a huge while on his face.
"I want to help daddy!" Carson hugged my leg.
I carried him and he looked at the pit of soup I was stirring. I let him hold the spoon and we stirred the pot of soup together. Dinner was ready and I put Carson down in order to bring the food to the table.
"Jane, dinners ready." I said as I put Carson in his seat.
After dinner, I start to wash the dishes. While doing that, I watch my lovely wife and son go to the living room to play. I joined them once I was done.
After awhile, I heard crying coming from the living room. As I walked in, I saw a screaming and crying boy lying in the floor and Jane who looked flustered. I could tell she didn't know what to do.
"Carson, what do you want from your mama?" I asked the crying boy.
He just continued to cry and roll on the ground. I sat on the floor and motioned for Jane to join me. I pulled her into a hug.
"I don't know what to do. He wanted a piggyback ride but I told him no because I was tired. He started to cry and when I told him to stop, he just screamed and cried even more. I'm a failure as a mother." Jane started sobbing. I squeezed her and told her I'll handle him.
"Carson. You want a piggyback ride? Come on." Carson's eyes immediately lit up and he stopped crying. I jumped onto my back and I ran around the house. Jane heaved a huge sigh of relieve.
Soon, Carson was getting sleepy. I brought him into his room and laid him on the bed. He hugged his stuffed elephant like there was no tomorrow, meaning he was really very sleepy. I pulled the covers over him and kissed him goodnight.
Jane and I headed to our room. We hugged and kissed goodnight. After climbing into our bed, Jane whispered, "Thanks you, Carlos. I love you."
I whispered back, "I love you too, Jane." I watched as her breathing became even, meaning she fell asleep. I then felt myself drifting of into la la land.
