She sits there,
Hearing his soft breathing as he sleeps,
She can't help but think,
When was the last time she admired someone like this?
When was the last time she let someone get this close?
She knows he could break her heart,
With a few small words,
Yet she puts her trust in him all the same,
Around him she is not the fragile flower she sees herself as,
No around him she is an Amazon warrior,
She is superhuman,
Around him she feels like she has the power to change the world,
He tosses slightly in his sleep and she sighs,
When was the last time she felt this kind of love,
The once in a lifetime kind of love,
The love that causes a physical ache inside,
It was in this moment,
With those thoughts that she realised,
Her heart will never fully belong to one person now or ever again,
Because there is a part of her heart that he owns,
And no one else will ever be able to have it.

My Broken Thoughts
PoetrySo these are some poems I've written over the last few years. Warning some are pretty depressing while others are mushy love poems. The ones with dates as titles are my super old poems from 2015 Hold on and enjoy the wild ride of my broken thoughts.
