The day started out like how it normally does.

They wake up and do whatever is required for that day. Both of them were a bit skinnier than before. The lack of food was weighing in on them. Since it was still winter a lot of animals had yet to come out of hiding , so hunting trips with success wasn't an everyday thing. Sometimes they would go a whole day without eating. It was starting to become a bit too much for Matt.

"Stephanie we need to talk."

"About what?"

"About the situation we are in. There is barely any food around here and it's too cold still for any edible plants to grow."

"So what are you trying to say?"

"I think we should think about leaving." Stephanie was a little shocked.

"What? No we can't leave. It's to dangerous out there. We have shelter here and we have no way of getting any where. Plus who knows how long it will be before we come across shelter again. We should stay." said Stephanie. Unfortunately Matthew wasn't convinced.

"Steph. It will be more dangerous if we stay with no resources. I'm sure we can find shelter anywhere."

"But Matthew not every shelter is like this cabin. We won't have a bed, kitchen, a fireplace, or anything. We can't leave. We have to stay."

"No Steph! We can't! I am trying to keep both of us alive and I can't do that here!"

"Matthew! You need to learn to be patient! You can't give up like this!" Soon a full blown argument broke out between the two. There was lots of yelling and anger exchanged between them each one to stubborn to go with the other ones plan. Finally it reached its boiling point.

"You know what Matthew! Since you can't seem to listen I am going to prove it to YOU!"

"You won't be able to prove anything Stephanie! Except for the fact I'm right!" Matthew snapped back at her. Steph grabbed her gear and looked him dead in the eye.

"Watch me!" she said through her teeth and marched out of the cabin and slammed the door.

Stephanie marched through the thin layer of snow.

"Ugh I can't belive him sometimes. Why can't he listen to me. I'm just as smart as he is! I'll show him that we can make it out here." She walked for a few more miles still pisssed off to no end "I mean who does he think he is? He acts like--" *SNAP* "AHHHH" scremed Stephanie as she fell to the ground in agony. She looked at her left ankle to see she had set off a bear trap and it enclosed around her ankle.  "No no no no no no" She said. She looked for a release switch but couldn't find one.

"God this hurts so much." As she looked for a way out she heard a moan and looked up to see zombies all around her.

"No. This isn't happening." she said with fear. She wished so desperately for Matthew to come. But she was no damsel in distress. She took out her gun and started firing at them. But then her gun ran out of ammo. Right before a zombie bit her face off it got its head blown off. Then the other remaining zombies started getting mowed down. "Matthew?" she wondered before feeling faint.

(15 minutes earlier)

"God why can't she see I am right!?!"

Matthew wondered out loud as he stomped around. "Why can't she see I want to do this for her own good." He continued before he came to another thought.
