Chapter 9

Chaeyoung POV

"Mina ya, can I sleep beside you?"

"Uhm.....yeah"

I felt a little nervous asking Mina this type of question. I could feel my whole face turning red. But I also felt like Mina was nervous too. She doesn't really feel cheerful around us, and she's quiet most of the time, but I felt like she felt more comfortable being beside me since I've tried helping her.

After we had finished our food, I glanced at the rest who already went straight to their tents leaving Mina and I alone. I saw Mina cleaning up with the tiredness showing on her face. I didn't like seeing her clean everything alone, so I decided to clean up as well even though I hated doing that. Mina looked at me with thankful eyes, and I couldn't do anything but smile back in response. We took everything to the trashcan nearby, and also made sure that our dining place was clean.

After we had finished, I saw Mina stretching her arms beside me. Yeah, it was a quite long day, to be honest, and I knew we had to experience even more tomorrow.

"Let's go to sleep Mina ya, it's late now" I said with my low voice and turned to Mina's direction.

"Alright" she replied and then went towards our tent with me following her.

I took a single glance at the dark blue sky before I went inside the tent. Our tent was quite small, but we could still fit in it. I went into my sleeping bag and also covered myself with an extra blanket since it was cold as hell. I stole another glance at Mina but found her glancing at me as well. I was a little shocked because I suddenly felt embarrassed, but I quickly tried to hide my red face. We kept staring at each other for so long without saying a word. Suddenly, I felt Mina holding my hand. My heart started beating faster.

"Chaeyoung ah.......it's c-cold" Mina said with her innocent voice.

My heart felt warm for a weird reason, but I decided to offer Mina my blanket. But Mina didn't take the blanket. I was confused for a couple seconds when she suddenly crept closer to me.

'shit, heart, please stop beating fast'

Mina looked at my eyes.

"I feel safer beside you" she said with her fearful tone.

I didn't know what to say, I kept staring at her in shock. Suddenly, I embraced her without knowing it. I pulled her closer to me, that her head was lying on my chest. I could feel her breathing on my cold skin. I kept hugging her tightly without letting go. For some reason, I felt warm being beside her. I felt like every danger was now unreachable when we hugged like this. I felt like my heart started beating with exhilaration.

My head leaned towards hers without losing my grip on her. I smiled.

"Goodnight Mina"

-The next morning-

I woke up finding myself still hugging Mina. My eyes couldn't stop staring at her face. Mina was smiling while she was sleeping which I found cute. She looked so ethereal and angelic while she slept, that I wished I could watch her sleep forever. I glanced at my phone before deciding to check the time without moving too much to wake Mina up. It was 6:26 am. Heol, this is the earliest I've ever been awake. I put my phone away and finally decided to wake her up. I heard that she was in charge of the breakfast making the first morning, so she had to wake up early.

At first, I didn't know how to wake her up, so I just silently watched her, hoping that she would wake up soon. I wanted to wake her up in a peaceful way, but I didn't know how. I wanted to carefully caress her soft skin, but I was too shy to do it, and it might seem uncomfortable for Mina.
