Mina POV
"You failed again"
"You're not my daughter"
"Why are you still here?"
The sentences kept replaying in my head as I was spinning around in the backyard. My muscles started to feel weak as my spins started feeling unbalanced. Sweat was sprinkling down my body as I stopped.
"Ouch, my head" I felt so dizzy that I sat on the ground immediately.
My head was hurting along with my painful heartbeats. I could barely breathe properly. But I didn't want to stop. I didn't want to be known as the failure I used to be in the past. I sighed deeply, tears forming in my eyes. Why did I end like this? I have no family anymore. I'm just one big failure in life, that can't even make my parents proud. The only thing I did was disappointing them. And now they're all gone.
I only shed one tear, and then felt a hand on my shoulder. I don't know why I didn't feel startled. I felt calm instead. I turned to my right and found Chaeyoung right next to me. I caught myself smiling unintentionally.
"C-Chaeyoung, what are you doing here?" was the only thing I could say.
Chaeyoung gave me a warm smile and sat next to me.
"Mina ya, it's late, you shouldn't be practicing that much. You're pushing yourself too hard" Chaeyoung said softly rubbing my shoulder carefully.
"It's already late?" I looked at the sky, and it was until this moment I've realized it was actually dark.
'Dammit, why didn't I realize this before?'
Chaeyoung chuckled at me.
"I guess someone is focusing so hard on dancing. Here, I bought chicken for you; you should rest" she smiled and placed a box of chicken in front of me.
I was speechless. Chaeyoung really thought about me. She was the only one who cared. The only one who made me find hope again. The only one who loved me, that I fell for her even more.
"T-thank you Chaeyoung"
"You're welcome Mina ya. Goodnight"
I grabbed her wrist.
"Chaeyoung, I want to enjoy this moment with you. You're the only one left" I recalled Chaeyoung's words she told me in the past.
Chaeyoung gave me that smile as if she was reading my mind. She wrapped an arm around me and stared at the sky.
"We only have each other left"
No one POV
"Mina ya, you joining today?" Dahyun asked.
"Sorry, I can't today" Mina picked up her books and left.
"uh, actually, m-me too. I have to go somewhere" Chaeyoung blurted and left the others.
"Well, I guess it's gonna be just us again" Dahyun exclaimed and looked at the others.
But nobody knew that Chaeyoung secretly followed Mina. But Mina didn't go to her house, she went to a strange place near the park where she approached a guy standing under a tree. Chaeyoung decided to find out what she was trying to do with the guy. She slowly hid behind a trashcan and observed Mina. But Mina was crying. The guy slapped her. Chaeyoung saw everything. She could feel her veins burn from anger. The man was clearly scolding her, and Chaeyoung couldn't take it anymore.
"Hey you, leave her alone or I'll show you the exact same thing you did to her!" Chaeyoung approached the guy clenching her fist.
Mina gasped and stopped Chaeyoung.
"Can I talk to you?" Mina hurriedly dragged Chaeyoung to another place.
"What are you doing? Why are you defending this jerk?" Chaeyoung hissed.
"Chaeyoung ah, please stop loving me" Mina suddenly spoke.
"What?"
"I'm sorry. Forget everything, forget my name. Forget that you've met me"
Chaeyoung blinked confusingly.
"I'm sorry, I can't be with you" Mina left, but Chaeyoung grabbed her wrist.
"Why?" Chaeyoung looked shocked at Mina.
"I just can't love you anymore" Mina said and removed Chaeyoungs grip before running away.
Chaeyoung was speechless. She could hear the sad tone in Mina's voice. She could see the tears in her eyes. She could feel her painful emotions. Chaeyoung's heart broke in pieces. The only person she had left, was gone. Mina left her. Chaeyoung was still frozen in her place. She couldn't believe what had just happened. Chaeyoung rested her head on her palms and closed her eyes.
"Why Mina ya?" she spoke to herself.
"Why did you suddenly leave me?"
"I thought you would be beside me till the end"
"I guess it's my fault after all, but it still hurts. It hurts loving someone who doesn't love you back" Chaeyoung kept talking to herself.
Chaeyoung finally stood up and started walking back to her apartment. She passed by Mina's backyard and recalled what had happened yesterday. The day where she was beside Mina for the last time, and she didn't know. Mina became a memory. And now she suddenly had to forget her. Chaeyoung sighed and fell on her knees. She didn't want this to happen but her tears finally fell.
"I'm sorry"
