Piraeus, Greece - June 2014
I looked out of the ships window and I stared at the cranes loading and unloading containers from our ship. It is a beautiful summer day in the port city of Piraeus in Greece, the seagulls are flying around our ship looking for something to munch on and the sun is shining brightly in the sky. Today is my first day as a worker on this huge container ship that carries goods all around the world. I can't wait to travel and to see new places I've never thought I would see in my lifetime.
A few more hours left and the ship will be ready to depart for our next stop in southern Spain. I left my cabin and I headed up the stairs to the upper deck where there is a full view of the port and the sea. I felt a slight summer breeze as I opened the door and I headed on the deck. From the deck I could see almost everything the city, the port and the crystal clear blue sea which is filled with mystery and beauty.
This journey will be amazing I thought and I smiled. :)
