Jay's change of personality was on one side of my life, While I had problems of my own.
My mom fell in love with a guy named Harry from work and I don't blame her at all.
She was really young when she had me and dad abandoned us right after that. she refused every proposal of marriage that came her way, just so she could raise me well.
She was a proud single mom up until now.
Now, she was ready to marry Harry and move in with him.
I told her that it was all too sudden for me and that I needed time. She understood and agreed to let me stay with my grandparents until I was ready.
I liked Harry. He was a good man for my mom. But I just wasn't ready to accept him as my stepfather yet.
And then there was Richie.
It started when a girl from my 9 th grade class told me that Richie, one of the popular kid among the girls, had a crush on dear me.
I didn't believe it at the start and so I kept tabs on him, watching him to see if he was watching me.
And I did catch him a couple of times, staring at me from across the class.
It was a weird experience. But I liked it. I liked the feeling of having someone to love me.
A few days later, Richie started dropping notes on my desk.
They were small poems on love and some times just some ransom pickup lines that would make me feel special.
We exchanged numbers. We talked on phones. He told me that he loved me.
I felt thrilled to know that I mean the world to somebody.
I told him that I loved him back and soon we were the star crossed lovers of the class. We even had ship names for us and R+K were couple goals for many.
Somehow, at the bottom of my heart I wasn't happy.
