I was surprised to get a reply from Jay. I thought he would never reply.
'I am back Jay. I lost my job.'
I sent the message with a lot of sad and crying emoticons.
'Wanna talk about it over coffee tomorrow?'

Post breakup, I was the strong girl with a new take on life.
But only Jay knew that I was actually breaking inside.
I became closer than ever with Jay again.
During weekends, I had no social life for I feared facing Richie with his new girlfriend.
Netflix became my dearest companion and sweatpants and tees became my second skin.
My mother was worried. But, she stayed true to her words and never forced me to come live with her.
I had insomnia attacks and would text Jay at 3:00 in the mornings.
He would immediately reply. He was a light sleeper and his cellphone pings from my constant messages would wake him up.
He would help me sneak out from the house and together we would take Kyle's motorbike to a 24/7 coffee shop. It was my favourite place in the neighbourhood.
We would sit there for hours talking and finally return home before dawn.
There were times, I would cry over Richie. I would go over our text conversations and that would be enough to upset me. Until one day, When Jay snatched my cellphone and deleted all my chats with Richie.
He made sure every memory of Richie and I were deleted before returning back the phone.
'He didn't deserve you' he would tell me.
