The first thing I did when I got back home was to break my phone.

Then I cried a lot for days and lived on ice creams and desserts.

My grades were extremely poor, so I had a hard time getting them back up.

I realized that if I keep on working hard, I would forget all about Jay.

I studied hard and got into a good college. During the breaks, I would go for part time jobs, even though Harry's income was more than enough for us.

I kept working all the time until I was exhausted. That way I had no time to think about my personal life.

The first two years were hard. But the days were getting better and better. Jay being so far apart, made it easier for me to forget him.

Harry got me a new phone and while I was setting up the sim in the new phone, I found his number. But never texted or called.

Although Life kept on going, Jay remained in a small part of my heart.

Six years passed and I became an editor just like I always wanted to be.

I moved to a different city and lived in a shared apartment with a friend.

Mom told me that Jay was back in town.

His old family had moved in with Kyle, who was now married and lived in a different town not far away.

Jay had come to visit.

He would go back again. He would not stay. I told myself as a mantra.

I was going on with my life when my chief suddenly fired me for some unforeseen blunder that I didn't even commit and my roommate moved in with her boyfriend.

And here I am, against all odds, drinking coffee with Jay. That's how life is.
