Chapter 2
Skylar
"I love your costume," A random girl said as I walked passed her.
"Thanks," I put on a fake smile but immediately dropped it once she couldn't see me anymore. I had no idea Tessa was inviting so many people, especially these people. Most of them were drunk or high, and there were literally people grinding each other on the dance floor.
"Tessa what the hell?" I found her talking to a group of girls. "I thought you said this was going to be a small party."
"What?" She screamed while dancing a little in place.
"You said this was going to be a small party!" I screamed over the loud music as I gripped my red Solo cup filled with seltzer. I felt the need to be sober so I wouldn't do anything stupid around all of these popular people who could actually ruin me with one picture.
"It was supposed to be but I told some people who told other people" She yelled.
"Then tell them to go home!" I yelled back.
"I don't know, I'll lose my party cred. They just-" She cut herself off when she saw two people getting a little too comfortable on the couch. "Hey! Get a room!" She stomped over to them as the doorbell rang. "Skylar, can you grab that?" She called back to me while trying to stop the couple from actually having sex on her purple velvet couch.
As I jogged over the the door, I slid a little in my black socks over her marble floor. I attempted to regain my balance as I twisted the handle and opened the door.
"Hi sorry, no more people allowed," I sighed as I looked down to straighten out my shirt.
"That's too bad. I skipped some fancy dinner with my parents just for this," A familiar voice said, and I whipped my head up. My eyes were greeted with Anthony's chocolaty brown ones and a smile that could make any girl's heart skip a beat. I didn't like him, I couldn't. He was deemed as Tessa's property and I would never do that to a friend, but I couldn't lie and say he didn't make me smile. He makes everyone smile, he's just one of those types of people, the one everyone loves.
"You came," I smiled.
"Yeah, I realized I needed a life," He shrugged. "Is there room for one more person?"
"Definitely," I laughed and opened the door wider so he could step inside. "Devil?" He raised his eyebrows and pointed to my outfit.
"Yep," I laughed.
"That's actually a perfect representation of you."
"Hey," My jaw dropped and I smacked him on his arm. "I resent that."
"I'm kidding. I'm kidding," He held his hands up in defense. "Don't worry, you look good."
"Oh. Well. Thanks," I smiled. His approval sent tingles through my body, making me grin.
"Okay. This is not what I was expecting," He took off his jacket while looking around. Underneath his North Face jacket he wore a full on tuxedo, bowtie and all.
