Chapter 10

Anthony

"I thought you weren't ready for me to meet your parents yet?" Tessa questioned as I ushered her into my house. "W-Which I'm totally fine with. But-"

"They're not home. You can relax," I laughed. "Actually, Hunter's out with Skylar, so we have the entire house to ourselves."

"I see," She grinned suggestively as we headed towards the living room. "What does that mean, exactly?"

"It can mean whatever you want it to mean," I shrugged and sat down next to her. Immediately after I switched on the TV, Tessa leaned in and connected her lips to mine. She's gotten better at kissing, I must say that, but there was something about it that just seemed, I don't know... off? I couldn't tell, but it was enjoyable nonetheless Her fingers brushed the skin underneath my shirt near my abdomen, making me shiver.

"Wait wait," I sighed, pushing her away. "We need to talk about something first."

"If this is because I'm a virgin then-"

"Woah wait. You're a virgin?" I coughed and looked at her with wide eyes. "Nevermind, it's not about that." I shook my head as she leaned back into a sitting position.

"Then what?"

"I-It's about Disney," I nervously said. I haven't talked to her about it since I got advice from Skylar because I've been dreading it too much. I did not want to see her disappointed face when I told her. I took a deep breath and then quickly spit out the news. "I-We can't go. Not anytime soon at least. Not if I'm gonna be the one paying for it either."

"What? W-Well I could help-"

"No. I don't want you to do that," I politely declined.

"But I want to!" Tessa exclaimed. "If that means we can go together in the future then of course I want to."

"But-"

"No stop. I insist. I mean, I have the money. Why not spend it on something like this?" She grinned and leaned forwards to close the space between our lips. She slowly straddled my lap and pressed her hands firmly on my shoulders.

Now that money wasn't an issue, I thought I would be relieved. She and I would be going to Disney World together, whenever that may be. But for some reason I wasn't feeling it. I don't think this was ever really about money at all; I just used it as an excuse because in all honesty, going to Disney with Tessa didn't sound as appealing as it should. I mean to be fair, we were still in our last year of high school, and to commit to something like that was pretty big; especially when we were about to apply for colleges.

"You're distracted," Tessa pulled away and frowned. "What's wrong?"

Thankfully I was saved from answering when the front door swung open, causing a cold breeze to flow through the house.

I expected to see my mom or step dad walk through, but no. Instead I was greeted with a perfect view of Hunter, sauntering into the house with Skylar attached to his arm.She wore the white romper with the incredibly deep plunging v neckline; the one she bought earlier today. I locked eyes with Hunter and he smirked at me, as if he knew this would irk me.

"Oh god," Skylar's eyes went wide when she saw Tessa and I. She promptly dropped Hunter's arm and turned around, acting as if Tessa and I were just caught butt naked having sex in the middle of the living room.
