A/N: Hi guys! What's up?
This is a bit of a filler chapter, but def worth the read if you're Team Skylar!

Chapter 11
Anthony
"Anthony, will you please say something?" Skylar's voice cut through my thoughts and pulled me back to reality. "Please, you're scaring me."
I eyed the speedometer and realized I'd been going almost 80 miles per hour. I tightly gripped the steering wheel and took deep breaths, slowly decreasing my speed.
"Anthony?" She said again. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see her grip the handle tightly.
"Yeah. Sorry," I sighed and ran a hand through my hair before placing it back on the wheel.
"Care to explain?"
"Please tell me you didn't let Hunter screw you," I blurted out before I could stop myself.
"What?!" She shrieked, clearly offended. "God, no."
"Okay good," I sighed with relief, feeling a 200 pound weight instantly lift off my shoulders.
"Is that what this is about?" She said with amusement in her voice. "You don't have to worry. He's not going to knock me up that easily."
"Really? You're the first to say that," I laughed.
"He's trying to change," She nodded. "I can tell."
"You've only been out with him once," I asked in a questioning tone. It bothered me that both of them knew so much about each other with only one night.
"I don't know how to explain it," She shrugged. "He doesn't seem as... eager; at least the other night at your house, he definitely seemed more desperate to get his dick out of his pants and down mine."
"And he hasn't even invited you to the basement?" I thought of that disgusting cave of a room my step brother resided in. I refused to go down there unless absolutely necessary. It smelled of sex and desperation, not to mention the random panties or bras I would find strewn across the room.
"Not once," She grinned. I glanced over at her and examined her smile. She seemed genuinely happy, and it was hard not to let her smile make my heart flutter. Suddenly, her face contorted with fear as she gripped the handle even tighter and shrieked my name.
I instantly whipped my head back, and slammed my foot on the brake once I saw the red taillights of the car in front of us quickly approach. The tires screeched against the blacktop road and the smell of burning rubber shot up my nose. I held my right arm out in front of Skylar to prevent her from flying through the windshield, even though she had her seatbelt on.
"Oh my god. Skylar, are you okay?" I hastily looked over at her after we stopped inches from the bumper.
"I-I'm fine," She coughed, her eyes still wide with fear.
"Are you sure?" I quickly undid my seat belt and got out of the car once I had pulled over and put on the warning lights. I went around the car and opened her door. Kneeling on the ground, I examined her body for any obvious bruises-my eyes lingering over her chest for a second too long to be right.
"Ant, I'm fine," She reassured and wrapped her fingers tightly around my own. I did my best to hide my stupid grin that was tugging at my face. She had called me by my nickname, and despite my best efforts, it made me want to hear it 100 times over. Naturally, I absolutely despise that name; I mean who wouldn't? It sounds like people are calling me exactly what it is: an ant. But it was different coming from her, and I couldn't help but feel the small tingles shooting up my spine.
"Ant?" Skylar squeezed my fingers and dipped her head to look at me. I came back to reality and blinked a few times, realizing my face was completely eye level the gigantic slit in her chest. Damn, why did I let her get this outfit? Hunter was probably ogling all night, practically drooling into his food.
"Um. Yeah," I cleared my throat and stood up. "Can you please put this on," I took off my North Face jacket and thrust it in her direction. Once she took it with confused hands, I shut her door and walked over to mine. It didn't match her outfit obviously, but even with her sweater on, her outfit was more distracting that I'd like to admit.
"Why do I have to put your jacket on?" She drew her eyebrows together and quickly slipped into it. It was a little big on her, but it made me smile to see her wearing something of mine. Was it wrong to feel the things I'm feeling? I'm pretty sure this didn't technically classify as cheating per say, but, I mean, if I said any of these things out loud, Tessa would most certainly beat my ass. If my girlfriend would be upset with it, it's probably not a good sign.
I shook my head and started to drive, trying to shake the feeling Skylar gave me whenever I was around her. I told myself I needed to focus on my relationship with Tessa, and I wasn't doing that right now. That needed to change...
"Okay, Ant. What gives? You're acting so weird," Skylar sat up straighter and looked at me. "First you insist on driving me home when Hunter is very capable, and you keep getting distracted, like you get pulled away in a day dream. Not to mention you practically kill the life inside me because you're not paying attention! Next you practically order me to put your jacket on without offering an explanation. I mean, I'm pretty sure that's not normal. What's wrong?"
I quickly glanced over at her. Instead of a reprimanding expression, like I expected, there was worry all over her face, and fear laced in her eyes.
"Should I be worried?" She sighed and reached out with her hand to touch my pulse point. God, what was with her and pulse points?
"No. Nope, not there," I cleared my throat and moved my neck so she couldn't reach the skin underneath my ear.
"What? Look, my mom always told me that a common reason for the strange behavior of a lot of people is because they either have too much blood pumping through their system too fast, or because they have too little. And since I can't check your wrist because you're driving, just let me check your pulse on your neck. It's more accurate that way anyway."
She leaned over more and was able to press two cold fingers on my neck. Instantly, I felt the effects of her innocent touch, and let me just say, it felt pretty shameful that she could affect me like that and we weren't even doing anything.
"Skylar-" I said, my voice dropping an octave. I tightly gripped the wheel and forced myself to look straight ahead. I could feel my pants tighten and my face flush.
"I can't find it," Skylar mumbled and started to feel around with her prodding fingers.
"Skylar. I strongly suggest that you remove your fingers from my neck if you don't want me to crash this car," I slowly said, trying to keep the huskiness out.
"O-Okay," She retracted her hand and shifted in her seat. "But-"
"I'm fine. Don't worry, okay?" I softened my voice and loosened my grip on the steering wheel.
"Alright," She frowned, but stayed quiet after that until we got to her house.
