Chapter 11
"Awesome you brought food!" Sam exclaimed throwing his arms up in the air.
"It's nice to see you too Sam." I said sarcastically. He hugged me, showing how happy he was to see me again.
We moved the food to the small dining room table he had. Sam sat next to me while Mr Sullivan and Ms. Langley sat across from us. The food took up almost the whole table. It was a lot of food considering I ate like a linebacker and Sam was a guy. I pulled apart my chopsticks, my mouth watering at all the noodles, rice and meat I was planning on eating.
I guess I wasn't the only one who was starving since we all stopped talking, only the sound of chewing was heard.
"So how did it go?" Sam asked in between bites of noodles and dumplings. I finished chewing and let him finish chewing before I told him. I can't have him choking on food after he heard the news!
"I got the part!" I told him smiling. He looked up so fast and before I knew it he had his arms around me, squeezing me so hard I couldn't breathe.
"Sam?" I wheezed out. If he kept his up I would probably faint. "Sam...can't...breath.... Let go!"
It seemed to occur to him that I was running out of oxygen and he released me. I fell back into my chair, taking in deep breaths of precious air. I glared at him but when I saw his smile I returned it.
"Sammy you did it! Thank you so much! You won't regret doing this I promise!" He leaned in for another hug but I slowly backed away. I wasn't going to get squished to death again! Sam looked a bit upset so this time I leaned in and gave him a hug.
"So now what?" I asked Sam and Mr. Sullivan.
"Well the company wants to meet up with you so you can sign the contract for your brother. You'd have to dress up again. I doubt that they will want you to start working for them right away so this might be the last time you have to pretend to be Sam." Mr. Sullivan explained.
"Does this mean I won't see Sam anymore?" I asked them, disappointment dripping into my voice.
"Actually Sammy that's what I wanted to talk about." Sam began "I was kind of hoping you'd want to come and live with me, if that's alright with you."
I stared at him blankly for a moment. "Really? You want me to stay here with you?" I asked, still not grasping the thought.
"Of course Sammy! I haven't seen you in almost six years! Do you have any idea how much I missed you?! At least this way we can see each other and try to make up for all that wasted time..." he trailed off as if blaming himself for being the cause of our separation.
"Sam don't beat yourself up about what happened. The past is in the past. As for your question, heck yeah! It would be so fun to live with you again! I only have one request. I need to go to the orphanage and pick up the few things I have."
"Awesome! Just as soon as we're done eating." Sam grinned at me and I grinned back, retuning my attention to the rice and chicken in front of me.
This day was just getting better and better
