Chapter 15

Saturday finally arrived. And I felt like I was going to blow up. I was a huge bundle of nerves. It wasn't everyday that you moved in with people you didn't know. To make matters worse my "room mates" are all GUYS! And I'm a GIRL! Do you know how hard it's going to be whenever I get cramps or something? How am I going to hide those... female things?

This was all I could think about as I began to pack my new clothes and shoes into my manly suitcase. I made sure to hide all my lady things in the secret pockets inside my suitcase. Hopefully my new band mates would let me unpack my things by my self. It was going to be pretty hard to explain why I had Midol and panties in my suitcase.

The CEO told Henry and I to meet him at a really fancy restaurant at around 5 so we could sign the contract. I was to bring my things and then leave with him to go meet my roommates again. What he didn't tell us was that there was a change of plans.

When Henry and I walked into the restaurant the hostess lead us to our table. The table--instead of sitting four-- sat eight. The guys sitting at the table were Mr. Barstow, Collin, Ethan, Alex and two other strangers that where later introduced as the band's managers. Mr. Barstow had a white button down shirt and black dress pants while everyone else chose to dress a bit more comfortably in khakis or jeans and dark button down shirts. I chose to wear a simple navy blue button down shirt with thin white stripes and black jeans. It wasn't until Ethan pointed out that we were matching that I actually noticed.

The only two empty seats were either between the managers or between Alex and Ethan. I chose to sit with Alex and Ethan. As soon as I started for that direction I could see Collin rolling his eyes and clenching his jaw. Man what's with this guy?! I haven't done anything to him! Why does he hate me so much?! I sat down and tried not to let it bother me.

Soon the waiter arrived with the menus. I didn't know what to order so I turned to Ethan and asked what he suggested. His face lit up as he pointed to several plates that had chicken and pasta. Alex spoke up and said

"Sorry about Ethan. He loves food almost as much as he loves chicken."

"You love chicken too?!" I asked with disbelief. Most people preferred pork or beef so it was rare if I found anyone who likes chicken, much less loves chicken as much as they love food.

"Heck yeah! Chicken is the food of my people! Chicken is a gift from the gods!" He replied, a determined look on his face.

I laughed then turned to Alex and asked which plate he suggested. I ended up ordering grilled chicken over fancy pasta and vegetables.

While we ate the CEO and managers discussed the contract. I tried my hardest to pay attention but it was kind of hard since I kept getting distracted with things in the restaurant.

After our plates were cleared the managers pulled a contract out of a briefcase and set it on the table. Henry read it all and then explained what I had to do and what I couldn't do. Overall it seemed pretty easy to fulfill my end of the deal.

Mr. Barstow pulled out a fancy blue pen and handed it to me. He pointed to where I needed to initial and finally sign. I tried to focus as I signed to make sure I wrote Samuel Green instead of Samantha Green. When I finished I unclicked the pen and handed it back to the CEO. I turned to walk back to my seat.

Ethan got up immediately and gave me a huge hug.

"Welcome to the band bro!"

I froze, unsure whether to warp my arms around him, pat his arm or simply just stand still. I decided to pat his arm. Hopefully he didn't noticed my nonexistent curves. I mean I have some curves but they aren't very noticeable.

"Thanks Ethan." I said as I patted his arm.

"Ethan please let Sam go, you'll squish him." Alex said from behind us.

"Sorry," Ethan said laughing as he released me.

Alex began to move closer. Crap! Don't hug me too! Why does everyone have the sudden urge to hug me?! If they keep this up they'll know who I am in no time.

I braced myself for a hug. Instead of hugging me, Alex patted me on the back and said, "Welcome to Blue Me Away. I hope we can practice together soon. I want to listen to you play and sing more. I can still hear your voice during the audition. That was beautiful."

"Oh yeah! Bro where do you keep that amazing voice of yours? You're so tiny!" Ethan said patting my head.

"Ethan you'll mess up my hair." I replied.

"What are you? A Girl?" He taunted. My eyes widened as I tried to come up with an excuse.

"I just want to look nice for the ladies." I responded as I ran my hands threw my hair to hopefully fix the damage done.

"Speaking if ladies, Alex weren't we going to throw a-- OUCH!" Alex elbowed Ethan in the ribs.

"Don't listen to him. He's still hungry since he didn't get dessert." He turned to the managers.

"Can we go get some dessert or something? That way you can finish getting Sam's room ready."

"Sure," James, the taller and handsomer manager told us. "Just make sure to leave the place before 10, that way you won't almost get locked in like last time." He looked a Ethan, who began to rub the back of his head and smile apologetically. "Sorry James. Won't happen again."

"I'll make sure it doesn't happen again." A new voice spoke. We all turned to see Collin looking at James. He opened his mouth and said "If Ethan gets lost or doesn't want to leave I will leave him. Same goes for you Sam." He turned to Ethan and me as he said this. "Got it?" Collin said raising an eyebrow.

"Yes Sir!" Ethan said with a mock salute. I nodded in agreement, trying my hardest to contain my laughter.

Ah my new band mates seemed pretty fun. Except Collin, but maybe if I'm extra nice to him he'll warm up to me. I just hope I can get along with them and not blow my cover until Sam is well enough to come back.
