Chapter 14

"Sammy hurry up and come out! I have to see how this looks on you!" Amelia complained for what seemed like the thousandth time.

"Do I have to? Can't I just buy everything that's a size small? It'll look big on me anyways."

"Sammy sometimes things look good while they are on the clothes hangers but ugly when you put them on. So hurry up and get out here!" She replied her voice dripping with impatience.

"Alright, alright! I'm putting on my shoes, hold on." I opened the door and walked out of the dressing room. "How does it look?"

She smiled as she was looking me over. "Good! I love it! Here try this on," she handed me a mountain of shirts and jeans. "But hurry! We still have to go to a lot of other stores and it's almost noon! Henry and Sam will be here any minute now!"

"Don't exaggerate. They said they wouldn't come until around five."

"Hurry up anyways! It's almost lunch time. And I know your probably hungry."

As if on cue my stomach growled loudly causing Amelia to laugh at me. This caused me to blush and almost fall as I was taking off my shoes. Curse my fast metabolism!

This went on for another hour until we stopped at the food court and ordered some food. The smells of different types of food was a bit overwhelming. I tried to decide what I wanted to get. I ordered two chicken sandwiches, some fries, and a chocolate milkshake from my favorite chicken restaurant.

Amelia's eyes opened wide when she saw me bringing my food to the table. She ordered a salad and a water, which looked tiny in comparison to my food. I sat down and immediately began to eat my food. I felt like I was starving. By the time Amelia was half way done with her salad and water, I had already finished both sandwiches, fries and was in the process of finishing my milk shake.

Amelia looked at me, astonished. "Go ahead you can say it." I challenged her.

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"That I eat like a boy. I have a really high metabolism so I eat a lot." I said looking down, a bit embarrassed.

"That's actually a good thing." she replied smiling.

"What do you mean?" I gave her a confused look.

"It makes your act more believable. Guys are always hungry so it works out great." She went right back to eating her food all lady like.

I sighed with relief but there was also a hint of jealously in the sigh. Sometimes I wished I acted more like a lady. Although I usually dressed in cute clothes I eat like a guy. Some guys would be scared off when they found out how much I ate. Now that I had to be a guy there is no WAY I'd get a guy to notice me.

I waited until Amelia finished and offered to throw her trash away. When came back to the table she grabbed my arm and began to drag me to another store.

Argh. This was going to be a long afternoon.

Before the guys dropped us off we had all agreed to meet by the east entrance next to a sculpture of a woman playing a violin.

When it got close to five Amelia and I started heading toward the statue. Amelia asked me to stay with the things while she went to the restroom. My legs felt like they were going to fall off so I sat down on the floor next to the violinist, a pool of shopping bags around my feet.

I had enough shopping to last a life time! The saddest part was all of the clothes that was suppose to be for me was actually guy clothes! So in the end I had no clothes that were actually mine. Amelia wanted to buy some girl clothes for me but since I was dressed like a guy... Ah it was too hard.

I started to reach for some money in my pocket since I wanted to buy some Boba Tea from the juice bar near the violinist when a small bag was tossed to my feet. I looked up to find Sam offering a hand to help me up.

"What's this?" I gestured toward the small bag.

"A pair of sunglasses." Sam answered. He helped me up and began to hand me the bag as well as a blue cellphone. "Here. These are yours."

"What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"Henry and I were talking about it on the way back from school. We figure you'd need one now that you'll be famous and living with three strangers. We already added Henry's, Amelia's, and my numbers to the phone."

I looked at the small blue phone in my hand. I never owned a cell phone before because I always had to pay for school. It was perfect. I looked up at Sam and resisted the urge to hug him.

"Thanks bro." I smiled.

By now Henry and Amelia joined us. Everyone grabbed some bags and the men lead us to the van. We loaded all the stuff and then left the mall.
