Chapter 41

Kayla POV

I turned in my bed sluggishly as my phone rang.

"You better answer that " Bryan said groaning.

I huffed and slowly got up out of bed and grabbed my phone before walking to the kitchen.

I answered it waiting for the person to speak since I didn't look at the caller ID .

"You gonna talk or continue to breath in the phone " Rosco's deep voice said through the phone .

"Why you calling me this early , I'm sure you know the time in LA " I said scrunching up my face .

"Nigga it's after 10 there , but I need you to do something for me " he replied .

"What is it Romario " I said rolling my eyes .

He of all people should know that I hate people waking me up out of bed especially this early .

"I need you to go check some shit out for me " he said lowly .

"Some shit like what Ro " I said concerned.

"Pick up some money from Pablo and keep it till I come down there " he said .

Pablo was Rosco's uncle and they were very close , so I guess that with him moving down here
Pablo wanted to welcome him .

I understood why he wanted me to pick the money up because apart from Rosco, I was the only one who he fully  trusted and we were good friends .

But I haven't heard from him in a couple of months so this would be interesting .

"Alright send me the address and shit , you set up everything with the realtor already " I replied.

"Naaa but there's some places I want to look at when I come next week, come with me ? "

"Yea sure I'll come " I nodded

"Alright thanks Kay "

"It's cool"

"Later babygirl " he said hanging up .

I smiled and put the phone on the counter before taking out a bottle of water.

3 hours later

"Hey Pablo " I smiled as I walked into his office.

He looked up and smiled back at me before getting up to hug me .

"How have you been Kaylana  " he said to me .

"I'm ok , just living " I said sitting in the chair.

"Well you look well and I'm guessing your not just here to visit so Rosco sent you " he said sitting on the desk .

"Yea he called this morning " I nodded.

"Right , well here's the package and tell him to contact me when he's settled " he said passing me a duffel bag .

As I grabbed it something in there caught my eye .

I looked at him as he smiled back at me .

"See you around Pablo " I said to him .

"You too Kayla " he replied.

I walked out his office and his guards escorted me out of his mansion.

I threw the bag in the back of my car and got in before driving out the driveway way .

I've known Pablo since I just started  trapping.

And because he was Rosco's uncle I trusted him but something this time was not right .
