The Vanguard had been working on a plan to kill Oryx ever since Agony returned with the essence of Crota. That was three weeks ago, they were going on four and Cayde was starting to go insane with these long meetings along with taking care of all the hunters. Cayde was also worried, Tevis had not contacted him, but he knew Tevis could handle himself. Cayde worried about Agony. Eris couldn't separate her from the darkness. Agony looked as though she didn't mind but no one had asked her what she was thinking. Cayde decided it was time for him to have a talk with Agony, he left Shiro in charge of helping the hunters, new and old. Cayde checked Mars, Venus, and the Moon. Agony was not on any of these planets and he was growing tired of this game. When Cayde went to Earth, he asked around if anyone had seen Agony. The people he talked to said Agony was at the Forgotten Shore. Cayde thanked them and rode his sparrow to the Forgotten Shore.

Agony stood on the shore, the waves gently lapping over her feet. Agony went into a handstand then slowly lowered herself until she was on her elbows. Agony let one leg go forward and the other leg go back, doing a split. Agony stayed in that position for a bit, listening to the soothing sounds of the ocean. Agony brought her legs together again then slowly brought both legs forward, bending her legs so her feet were barely above her head.

Cayde arrived at the Forgotten Shore just as the sun began to set. Cayde walked over to the shore and stared at Agony, her long white hair in a messy bun, her eyes closed, deep in thought.

"How can I help you?" Agony asked without opening her eyes.

"Flexible. Bet it makes the bedroom fun if you know what I mean", Cayde joked. Agony smiled as she opened one eye to look at Cayde.

"And what do I owe this honor?"

"Agony we had dinner together last week it's not an honor I just wanted to leave work." Agony brought her legs back up and went back into a handstand, "showoff." Cayde muttered as Agony brought her legs down and then stood up,

"What do you want to talk about Cayde?"

"How are you doing?"

"Not so well..." Agony said, going straight to the problem, "what Eris said has stuck to me. How come she could tell everyone else apart from the darkness but me?"

"You were holding the stone."

"Cayde, when I arrived at the tower I was the first Awoken guardian. What if Tenebra made a mistake resurrecting me?" Cayde walked over to Agony and held her hand.

"Agony, you have more light in you than any other guardian. You fight for us, you fight for your home, and you fight for everyones freedom. You are everything, you are the person everyone wants to be and more." Agony held Cayde's hand.

"You're so great a flattery. But I am Awoken, we live on the brink, and I was the prototype."

"It could effect other Awoken."

"Jake is one and Eris was able to tell him apart right away. Cayde think of history. Humans were the first touched by the light, Awoken the last."

"What about Exo's" Cayde said to himself instantly regretting it, "never mind what I said."

"Let's talk about this. Cayde. What are humans?"

"Humans are fleshy, bleedy beings that have emotions and have a history."

"Awoken?"

"They're blue, weird, and have a history."

"Exo."

"Metallic, cold, have no history."

"Who is Tevis?"

"Tevis is a human, he's my best friend, he's like a brother to me, we've got a lot of history."

"Roach?"

"He's a lovable idiot, I see myself in him, maybe because we're both Exo's. One day I hope he matures a bit... maybe take my spot if I die. We got pretty far back as well"

"Me?" Agony asked bringing Cayde's hand up to her cheek. Agony felt cold, like she always did, but for some reason Cayde thought she was warm at the same time.

"You're my favorite girl, you're Tevis' favorite girl, the best hunter this tower has ever seen, the tower favorite."

"Who are you Cayde?"

"I'm an Exo, I'm sarcastic and witty, but I just use that to hide my insecurities." Cayde said, pulling his hand away from Agony.

"Cayde, you have a history, you just proved it by talking about Tevis and Roach. Your people have a history. You may not know all of it, but you have one. It may not be as extensive, and you may not have an origin story, but you have one. Hell, humans aren't sure how they came to be either. That's why they have faith in something." Cayde chuckled, Agony had a way with words, a way with people, he felt kind of stupid now.

"Want to go get some drinks?" Agony asked

"Yeah, I don't want to go back to work just yet."
