Broken

Agony woke up when the bed shifted, she looked over her shoulder to see Cayde getting up. Agony grabbed his hand and gave it a light squeeze.

"Just heading to work." Cayde said

"It's not even dawn." Agony yawned checking the time

"I just need a distraction." Cayde said as he got off the bed. Agony laid her head back down and fell asleep as Cayde left the room. When Agony finally got up she was approached by Lord Shaxx.

"Agony Ikora and Zavala wish to speak with you." Shaxx said, Agony felt as though she was in trouble. Shaxx lead her to the hall of guardians and closed the doors behind them. It was only the four of them, the robots and human staff were gone.

"Agony, when was the last time you saw Cayde?" Ikora asked, trying to be a gentle as possible.

"This morning, he said he was going to work."

"And you believed him?" Zavala scoffed

"Zavala." Shaxx warned

"Yes I did, he's my friend. Now I know I wasn't invited here to talk about Cayde's emotional well being and I am this close, to bitch smacking you." Agony said, holding up her fingers, they were almost touching. "So, what do you know, and where are the bullets going?"

"We lost contact with Cayde this morning, and he hasn't established any connection since. Agony, you know him, we already asked Roach and Shiro but they can't think of anything. Don't let anger cloud your judgement." Ikora said. The look on Agony's face said it all to Shaxx. Shaxx tried to grab her before she threw the doors open and ran. Shaxx ran after her. Agony ran over to the edge of the Tower and jumped, going into her ship before she began to fall. Shaxx looked around and saw Roach talking to Banshee.

"Roach!" Lord Shaxx yelled, Roach turned around and looked at him. "You know how people get when they let their emotions get the best of them. You are the pride and joy of the Crucible, you know the importance of teamwork. Don't let her do this alone!" Roach stood there thinking where she would go. If your best friend had died, and your other close friend went off. It clicked. Roach ran over to the edge of the Tower and jumped, and began to fall.

"Scotty what the fuck!" Roach screamed as he fell, getting closer and closer to the floor. Roach lifted his arms in front of his face and closed his eyes. Even though he did this a lot, it always hurt.

"You can open your eyes." Scotty commented, Roach opened his eyes and put his arms down.

"I know you complain when I fly fast, but I have to catch up to her." Roach said, going as fast as the ship could handle.

Roach landed on the Dreadnaught and looked around. There are so many places she could have gone to.

"The Mausoleum, she went that way." Scotty said leading the way. Roach ran, when he arrived the gate in the area was open. Two curved pillars with the taken goop in the middle, he knew she went through there. Roach ran over to the gate and ran through it, no hesitation, he couldn't afford it. Roach ran straight into Agony knocking her over. Agony rolled over pointing her gun at Roach's helmet.

"Roach?"

"Agony!" Roach exclaimed helping her up and hugging her, "oh God I thought I was too late."

"You flew like it." Scotty whispered, Tenebra bumped into Scotty telling him to shut up. Roach helped Agony up to her feet.

"Agony, don't do this. I know you want revenge, but this won't solve anything."

"This will solve everything! I can end this here and now, and you want to stop me?" Agony yelled

"Agony your emotions are getting the best of you. Take a deep breath, look around the room, and tell me hat you see."

"No, I'm going now." Agony stated as she began to walk away. Roach closed his eyes

"I'm not going anywhere, my eyes are closed. I can't move unless you tell me where to go."

Agony took a deep breath, held it, and released it as a sigh.

"okay... it's a straight shot from me to you. There are torched up against the wall lighting up the path... behind me there's a pillar that goes down into a hole... i can't see the bottom. There, are you happy?" Agony asked, irritated but she wasn't as irritated as before.

"Yeah." Roach said opening his eyes and following his friend down the halls. The two guardians entered the Asylum. A bright white orb floated on the floor below. Roach and Agony walked down the steps. The orb vanished and taken began to spawn. Roach and Agony gunned them down. The two walked to the back of the room, going up a short set of steps. The door opened, at the end of the room was an image of Oryx.

"You think you can defeat me? You are the last hope of the light? I have taken worlds!" Oryx boomed

"I have taken lives. The lives of your people and many others. You cannot, and will not stop us." Agony responded calmly, Oryx laughed.

"I have taken the light of many a guardian. Why don't I show you." Oryx said before his image faded away. The portal opened, Agony's heart stopped and Roach felt like he was about to short circuit. Cayde and Tevis stepped out from the portal, but it wasn't them. They were covered in the black goo. Oryx had taken them.
