Taken but not Forgotten

Long Live the King

The day had finally arrived. Each guardian picked their favorite weapons. Agony, Cooper, and Serena had rocket launchers, Jake, Roach, and River all had machine guns. Everyone agreed sidearms would be the best secondary weapon for this mission. Even though the Dreadnaught was big, it had some tight spaces. That day Rahool had called them all over.

"I've been saving these. Didn't want to decrypt these engrams yet." Rahool said as he laid out several exotic engrams.

"Someone is a hoarder." Agony joked as they all carefully chose one. "Who wants to go first?"

"I guess I will," Serena said as she returned the engram to Rahool. The engram revealed a silver hand-canon with feathers engraved on the sides.

"Stalk thy prey and let lose thy talons on the darkness. This is Hawkmoon." Rahool said as he gave Serena the gun. River went next. Her engram revealed a silver and gold hand-canon. "But where is your fate, and who brings it to you? This is Fatebringer." River took the gun and had a slight smile on her face,

"A fitting description." River stated

"For you or the gun?" Jake teased as he gave Rahool his engram. A pulse rifle, with a faded dark green color, appeared the word soon etched into the side.

"This weapon is called No Time to Explain," Rahool said as he handed it to Jake. It was Cooper's turn next. A weapon, like one they had never seen before, was in Rahool's hands.

"What is that? It looks like something the Hive would use." River said examining it.

"It is called the Necrochasm. Its description says Eternity is very close.  Can you feel yourself slipping?" Rahool said as he held the gun out to Cooper, "you do not have to keep it." Cooper took it and said nothing, only began to look it over.

"Hope I get something good," Roach said as he handed over his engram. A gray and blue scout rifle.

"This is The Jade Rabbit. What kind of hairbrained scheme have you got in mind this time?" Rahool asked as he handed the gun over to Roach.

"The Jade Rabbit. I've read about it. Let's see how this baby works." Roach said enthusiastically.

Finally, Agony handed over her engram. Rahool dropped the gun, everyone but Agony and Jake took a frightened step back.

"What is it?" Agony asked as she picked up the gun.

"Red Death. Vanguard policy urges guardians to destroy the weapon immediately. You should destroy it, that thing is nothing but a bad omen." Serena said as Agony looked at it. It was a black pulse rifle, it had a bayonet on it, and the front was caked in dry blood that somehow still looked fresh. Agony stared down at the gun, then slung it onto her back and walked to her ship. "She's going to get us killed by bringing that thing," Serena muttered to herself.

They all stood at the stone statues at the court of Oryx. Ikora had done a lot of research to figure out how to activate the portal in the Court of Oryx to get to him. After that, the rest was a mystery.

"Okay, two people go left, two people go right, two people stay here." Agony started, "Serena, go with Jake. Cooper, you're with me. Roach and River you two are staying here. Once we snag those orbs the taken will try to stop us. Everyone ready?" Agony asked looking at the others, she couldn't see their faces under the helmets but she could feel the determination. "Alright. Let's go!" Agony said as they split off leaving Roach and River to defend the statues. Suddenly a transparent wall appeared, blocking them off from the statues. River looked at the doors their teammates went through, they too were blocked with the same transparent wall.

"By the Traveler, these weigh a ton!" Serena exclaimed

"You're telling me," Cooper grunted. 

"Taken!" Agony exclaimed as she opened fire, Jake began shooting as well. Roach and River turned around to see taken behind the transparent wall. The two of them took cover and began to shoot at the wall, eventually taking it down, and taking down the taken behind it. Cooper and Serena walked up to the statues, Jake and Agony walked backwards, keeping an eye on where they just came from. Serena and Cooper slam dunked the orbs into the statue.
