"Why are you telling me this? Not that i don't want you to talk to me cause I do want you to talk to me about this but I'm just not sure why and what I'm supposed to do but I mean I'm glad you're telling me and--" he cut me off and I realized I was doing my nervous rambling again.
"Pay, I'm telling you because I trust you. I don't know what it is about you... I just feel like I've known you forever."
Does he really feel this way? Did he feel the automatic connection that I did when we first met?!
"Me too." We both smiled at each other. "But again, I go back to why are you telling me this?" I ask.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, why aren't you telling her?" Woah, did I actually just have good advice come from my mouth?
"I- I don't know. I don't know how to bring it up to her... How do I start that conversation?"
I shrugged my shoulders at this question. "I don't know. But what I do know, is do it in person, but make sure you don't do it in front of a bunch of friends. Okay? But Make sure she has someone to go to afterwords though, you don't want to leave her stranded." He just nodded his head.
"Hey, you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah. I just... I hate to throw away this relationship we've had for 1 year." He looked down again.
"You shouldn't be in a relationship that you do t have feelings for anymore." This time he looked back up at me, with sweet caring eyes.
"Stop that." I said quietly.
"Stop what?" He sort of chuckled.
"Stop looking at me like that... Like you're trying to figure me out..."
"But I am Payson. One minute, you're this sweet, shy fan that I've never met and the next minute it's like we've known each other for years." I smiled. I looked up at a couple more fans coming to the table. These girls seemed nice though, they smiled at me and were just really sweet. William asked if they wanted a picture with him and I offered to take the picture for them. The girls left smiling at their phones. I could tell they were fangirling on the inside. Me and Chandler went to sit back down.
"I really do need to go back now." I looked at my phone to check the time.
"It's 7:30. I've been over here for 3 hours." I chuckle. "This ends at 8 you know." I gave him a half grin.
"I know. Actually, I think we are leaving soon too..." He moved his lips to the side of his face.
This is it. After this, I won't see Chandler in person, probably ever again. I mean, yeah I can text him, but... I won't see him.
"Well, then... I guess this is goodbye Chandler Carlton Riggs." I laughed and stood up.
"No, it's a 'see you later.' So, I'll see you later, Payson-"
"Grace" I interrupted.
"Payson Grace Wheeler." He smiled. I looked down at my feet then back up to his beautiful, big blue eyes. He hugged me, but not how he hugged his fans. This was a real hug, my arms around his neck an his hands around my waist. It lasted for about 30 seconds but it felt like hours, and I didn't want to leave. We let go and as he leaned back, he kissed me on the cheek again and I could feel myself blush.
"Bye Pay." He said. I mouthed the word 'bye' and turned and started walking.
"Bye Payson, it was lovely meeting you!" Mr. Riggs called out to me. I turned back and saw him, Grayson and their mom waving goodbye to me. I smiled and waved back, but I didn't look at Chandler again. If I did, I would go back an stay there forever... That or I'd start crying, and I'd rather not do either.
I walked around some booths and sat down at mine, looking at the life-size ET on the top of the racks my dad always puts up. I smiled and shook my head and my dad came up to me.
"You ready to put the tarp up and go back to the hotel?" I nod and get up from the little black chair i was sitting on. We put the tarp up and clipped it to the grid wall (the racks) and then we were done. By this time, Chandler was probably gone, and that made me frown.
"Hey dad, im gonna go see if Normans booth has settled down with fans since it's almost over."
He nodded. "Okay. I'll be here.. Or I'll go over there in a couple minutes." I give him a thumbs up as start walking. I walked past Chandler's booth, and, it's empty. I sigh and keep walking. I was right, there's barely anyone left in the line, maybe 10 people. I try to get in line but one of the volunteers stop me.
"The convention is over for tonight, I can't let anyone in the line." I nod. I understand, if he kept letting people in, Norman would never be able to leave. I just walk over to where some other people are watching also. I look over to Sean Patrick Flannery's booth is and I see Steve. I wait til he leaves that booth to go talk to him. "Steve!!" He turns around confused, then he smiles.
"Hey so you said you knew Norman and his manager personally, right?" I was a little too excited but, I don't care, this plan might actually work!
"Yep, that's what i said! Why?"
"Weeellllllllll, I haven't been able to meet him yet, and they won't let me in the line now. And if I wait for tomorrow, then there will be way to many people in line by the time he leaves, so I was wondering if you could get me in to meet him somehow?" I opened my eyes wide and gave a hopeful grin to get him to say yes.
"I'll see what I can do." He chuckled and walked around behind the curtained booth and signaled for Normans manager to talk to him. The intercom came on- "the show floor is now closed. Please start making your way to the exit. Thank you." I laughed at how emotionless the voice was.
All of a sudden, I see Normans manager point at me, then Norman waved. He motioned his hand for me to come, but I wasn't sure if it was me so it pointed at myself and mouthed the word 'me?'. He nodded so I made my way over. The volunteer stopped me but Norman said i was okay. I got up to the booth and saw steve to the side. "Thanks Steve!" I said to him. Norman chuckled.
"So I see you've met my double." His voice wasn't nearly as gruff as Daryl's, but still amazing.
"Yeah! He is the best."
"So I heard you've been dying to meet me!" He laughed.
"Good thing I did, or I guess I'd be dead!" I joked with him like I wasn't nervous or my hand weren't shaking...
"Did you meet Chandler earlier?"
"Yeah!! I actually stayed with him for a while aroun the table for a little while. We just talked." I smiled at the memory.
"Oooh, someone's got a crush." I laughed at him for saying that. He signed the autograph.
"Well Payson, I hope I can see you tomorrow!"
"Me too!" I chuckled when Norman came around the table an gave me a hug. I was smiling so much! Ugh. Besides the fact that Chandler is gone, today has been the best day of my life.
((I imagine Payson as Ciara Bravo btw :))
