Chapter 9

"The construction company decided they aren't getting enough sales on the houses here. They want to move to a different state and if they move, I do to. I have to manage it all. The three states that have an opening for a small construction company are Tennessee, Georgia, or South Carolina. It's up to you. Do you want to leave Indiana?"

Leave? Does he really want me to leave? All my friends? The relationships I've built?! But on the other hand, this could be a new start! And let's be honest, I'm not getting anywhere with my acting here in little old Indy... Maybe this could be good.... Wait....

DID HE JUST SAY GEORGIA?! Like, AS IN ATLANTA GEORGIA?!

"Pay.... What's going through your mind? Speak it out." My dad raised his eyebrows at me.

"Did you say Georgia?"

He nodded. I tried to contain my excitement. I could be closer to Chandler this way!!! WAIT- what am I doing? This is kinda crazy fangirl stalker stage.... And on the other hand, what about Maya, Danny, and Jake? They're my best friends...

"Can I have some time to think about it? I really don't know how I feel about this right now." I shrugged and looked down.

"Yeah of course honey! How about try to decide by this weekend? And if you still haven't made up your mind by then, I'll give you another week. But, we need to decide by then, they need to know."

All I did was nod.

I went to sit on the couch and I turned on the TV to abc and watched a show called castle. It's a show where it's the NYPD, and there's this mystery writer named Richard Castle, and he goes on these cases with a detective named Kate Beckett. And of course, they're best friends, and end up falling in love. I guess I shouldn't really say that I'm watching, since I'm mostly just focusing on what to do.... I need to ask Maya and Danny. I mean, I'd text Jake too, but he's not much help with stuff like this.

Me: hey.... My dad just told me some news... We might be moving soon.

Maya: WHAT?! When?! Why?! Where??????!

Me: umm, my dads construction company needs to be moved. And I'm not sure when. I have 3 choices... Georgia, Tennessee, or South Carolina.

Maya: OMG! Doesn't the walking dead film in Georgia?!

Me: yeah... Chandler lives there too.

Maya: that'd be a great opportunity for you! I mean, don't get me wrong, I NEVER want you to leave but, we know your dad. He's gonna move no matter what. But if you get the choice of where, choose Georgia!

Me: thanks Maya. This helped.... Imma text Danny too.

Maya: alright bby! Love you pay, no matter what happens!

Me: love you too.

I texted Danny later and she basically said the same thing, but she protested it more. She also told me to text chandler... Should I? Or should I just leave that conversa--

It's chandler. Oh god. What do I do?! Do I tell him? Do I wait? Oh god. Come on Payson, atleast read his message first.

Chandler: hey! I asked my parents what hotel we are staying in on Friday night, guess what they said!

Me: what??

Chandler: THE HILTON!! We can actually hang out, like outside if the convention!

Me: yay! That's great!!!

Chandler: what's wrong? I can tell something's wrong...

Me: .... We are texting though....

Chandler: I can still tell.

Me: it's nothing. I'd actually much rather tell you in person, so I will tell you this weekend (:

Chandler: okay...? Is it bad?

Me: yes and no.

Chandler: oh god, pay, please tell me!

Me: I promise, I will tell you this weekend. Cross my heart.
