Honestly, you always wanted to punch the lights out of him.
He was petty, annoying, always brooding, never smiling.
But he was your brother.
Ugh, the pain of not being able to punch him killed you inside. But you knew the second you would make contact with his face using your fist, he'd punch you back a hundred times harder. He was stronger, older.
He always had something to brood about, if he didn't he'd pretend to. And he was so lame. Like seriously lame.
He had studied at an elite school, and everyone there had rich, refined Brit accents. Something your brother thought he could pull off.
He could try, but it sounded so fake, so obviously fake that no one noticed it was fake. A real, sensible person would be able to make out how fake his accent was, you were able to make out his fake accent.
Yes, he had his many annoying faults, his many lame jokes, his annoying wannabe Brit accent. But he was your big brother. And a good big brother he was, sometimes.
He'd stand up for you. When that group of viscious seniors in your school verbally attacked you and your friends, he'd stand up for you.
He'd listen (sometimes). When you had cried in bed because of something everyone thought was silly, he'd listen. He wouldn't find it silly, he'd find you silly for crying about something so serious to you.
He wouldn't laugh at something you dearly cared about. He'd make a small joke about it but he'd see you cringe in sadness about it, and then he'd leave you be with a small sigh and a pat on the back. Sometimes.
He was a good big brother. Just tough to love. And you didn't (always) mind that.
