The sleeves of Rose's white knitted sweater were slightly wet from spraying all these flowers. It was the busiest day of the year for her friend's shop due to the fact that it was the day that everyone needed flowers or a good date spot.

Valentine's Day. The day that many are terrified of, mostly those in relationships of course. The singles just have to laze around wallowing (or celebrating) their singularity.

Daisy's Flowers & Co, where the 'Co' was short for coffee. A popular cafe in the First Ward of Tokyo. Rose had been working in this very store since the day it was just a tiny single floor cafe with only six food items on its menu (excluding the five original drinks). That was about six years ago, now it's among the top three Must Visit coffee sites in Tokyo.

"Maeda-san! Michi-kun needs help out front!" One of her co-workers yelled from the front of the kitchen. Rose was way at the back, in a secluded room with decorative items for all the flowers, bouquets, ribbons and cards. She originally had no idea how to make a masterpiece bouquet, it took her around seven months just to figure out which flower goes with another the best. Once she had gotten the hang of it, she became the best bouquetière in the shop.

Rose quickly grabbed as many ribbons and bows and stuffed them in the pouch of the peachy pink uniform apron. She then ran out, carefully avoiding oncoming customers and waiters. The sunlight almost blinded her when she came out. When the light subsided, she moved to the shade of her tall friend, Michio. The man was 25, a recent college graduate. He had been working here for at least two years ever since he moved out of his college dorm and into his own apartment.

Rose noticed the pale blue band-aid around his index finger, "Did you hurt yourself?" she asked. Michi nodded, "There was a thorn on the rose. Got it cut off, though. Since it's Valentine's day, the boss asked us to give out a free rose to anyone."

Rose inwardly laughed at a thought that popped up in her head, Rose is giving out roses today. She nodded at Michi and then rolled up her sleeves and tied her dyed pink hair into a bun. Michi handed her gloves and they patiently waited for the customers, as well as looked around for people to give out roses too.

The streets were full of working people, a few students loitering around but most of all, the Doves. They usually wore white trenchcoats over their probably black suits carrying briefcases that looked so normal. They were the defenders of mankind, they served the people by capturing or exterminating the ghouls.

Ghouls, carnivorous and cannibalistic species that are only able to feed on humans and other ghouls. They are as close in appearance to humans as possible. They have the same physical appearance of any normal human, and probably the same intelligence, the only difference is that they have a strange diet for human flesh. They also possess a bodily weapon, a kagune that is like a flexible steel that varies in shape, size and strength.
