Valerie had never seen blood out of the body in huge amounts. Apart from that one time when Lindsay Bach fell off her bike so badly that her leg got a huge gash.

But that was an accident.

This...This is murder.

She didn't know how she got here, she had just woken up with her hands bound around her knees, and her ankles were tightly tied together with the rope slowly slicing through her flesh, her lips were sealed with tape.

If Valerie looked left, she saw large armed men. If she looked right she saw a blocked exit. Straight ahead was a freshman from her school- Jade Beau being continuously stabbed by someone four-times her size. So all Valerie could do now was look up with her back against the wooden crate and cry, hoping she doesn't puke into the tape.

Valerie had woken up this morning to a very normal day. She had gotten out of bed with a text from Keisha to wear the matching red crop tops they got from H&M earlier in the week. She dressed up and sent a picture to Keisha to receive a reply of her outfit as well. She went down, saw her mom making breakfast with Detective Owen Stahl (her mom's boyfriend, who apparently stayed the night). She said hello, grabbed a piece of the toast and left out the door to catch the bus to school. She made it to school, took pictures with Keisha, went to all of her classes.

Everything was normal until she went with Keisha to Barnes & Noble to pick up a new book. They parted ways at a bus stop and that's when things got unnatural, to say the least. Two stops away from her house, Valerie decided (stupidly) to walk the rest of the way home. She was halfway there when she felt eyes watching her. She turned behind her and saw a car moving suspiciously slow along the street. It wasn't a special car, something that had aged pretty badly with a rusting bumper and a broken left headlight. The windows were tinted. Valerie started speedwalking when she started feeling scared. She abruptly stopped and took out her phone to 'take a selfie'- she saw the car had stopped too.

The wind howled restlessly and she tried to formulate a plan as quickly as possible. She couldn't think of anything when she heard the slam of a car door so she just ran. She ran between two houses as fast as she could and then turned sharp right towards her house. Maybe she could try calling Owen or her mom? She manoeuvred her bag to the front while running and tried getting her phone out from the front pocket. She could hear the loud steps of someone behind her but she was too afraid to see who it was. While dialling Owen's number she almost ran into a street lamp. Startled she almost tripped but picked up her pace again. She felt her lungs burning up and her legs were beginning to cramp.

Think of a way to get him distracted. She thought.

She looked around for something to help her. But that's when she realized: This is a neighbourhood.

"Help!" She screamed, "Help, I'm being chased!" She screamed as loudly as possible.

"Hello, Valerie?" She heard Owen's voice through her phone.
