Chapter 15

JACE's POV
"Hey man how's Katriel?" Jace gave Rick a shrug while walking up to him,"She should be good,where's Dr.Lake?"
  Perfect timing,a tall middle aged man walked up to the two wearing a pair of square rimed glasses and a white coat. "Hello Jace." Jace shook the man's hand."Hello Doctor. Can I talk to you in private?"

Rick nodded in understanding before walking off leaving the two to take a walk and talk."Do you have it?" Jace asked folding his arms. "Yes I do." The doctor brought out a clear container that had blue pills. "They'll work well on the girl. And immediately."

With a nod,Jace took the pills and pocketed them.

"Are you sure there's nothing that can be done for Katriel's  mother?"

"Sorry Jace, I've done everything,I've researched,nothing."

"Alright,your dismissed."

With that the doctor gave him a nod before he walked away leaving him with his thoughts.

"Jace! Come here a sec." Victor beckoned his leader downstairs,in his hands was a iPad as usual. Technology was Victor's for tau. "What is it Vic?" He asked finally reaching the bottom of the stairs.

"Watch." The screen on the iPad went dark. Soon,Jace could make out it was footage,the camera seemed to be at the back of Katriel's house. There was static,a long wait then finally the back door was suddenly kicked open and a figure bolted out of the house and out of the camera's vision. Victor paused ,rewind and enhanced the footage. An enraged growl came from Jace as he finally saw who it was.

"Diaz is dead."Jace gritted his teeth staring at the image of his filthy rival. In agreement,Victor nodded before shut off the device and facing him,"I take it that Katriel is staying here,right?"

Jace nodded,they would be a few rules to put down but he was planning for her to stay,"I think so." In response Victor nodded,"Okay. She'll also be joining Black Blood I presume." Jace didn't have a straight answer for that,she was going to need a lot of training.

Their moods immediately went serious when they heard an alarm rung twice through the whole building,it was the,'drop what your doing and get to the main room' alarm. By the time the alarm stopped they were already running into the main room. Soon followed by the others when the alarm stopped,to greet a stone faced Luca.

"Luca?What are you doing here,"Jace asked cautiously approaching the man. Rick stood a few paced from Luca giving his leader a shrug,clueless to what the man wanted.

"Can't I stop by to meet my greatest allies?" Luca kept his voice in monotone,all serious as always. "Of course." Jace was certain he was lying through his teeth,the man loved to talk on phone or send a video with a disposable phone,he didn't like to expose himself too much.
 
"Good. Now where's this Katriel character? I would very much like to meet the girl that has earned your trust." Luca let a smirk slip onto his lips as Jace clenched his fists. There was no fooling Luca. There was no room for cheap lies,"How?"

A dark chuckle from Luca was Jace's response. "How?I have ears and eyes everywhere. So?Are you gonna show her to me or do I have to find her myself?" Jace's blood run cold as his eyes darkened,he didn't like to be threatened.

"That isn't a threat is it?" He growled,raising his head.

"No,it's not. But remember were you came from." Luca said,remaining completely neutral.

Jace gave in and headed up to fetch her. Taking a deep breath,he opened the room to see Katriel still deep in sleep. He approached her sleeping form sighing,"Hey,wake up."he removed the blanket from her face in time to see Katriel's grey eyes flutter open.
