Jace's POV
It was an amusing sight. Her hands balled up in fists, trying to look deadly, the stance was off. Katriel was clearly not a born fighter. As the others started lifting weights,or began target practice,Tyler and Jace were in the boxing ring with Katriel. Jace was the teacher, Tyler was her sparing partner."Nice try but your stance has to be like this." Jace gave a brief demonstration before standing back up straight, hands behind his waist. "Since you weigh less than him,use his own weight against him." Jace instructed once again before approaching Katriel who was still trying to adjust her stance.
"It's not hard, like this." Jace placed his hands on both sides of her waist, smirking when he heard her gasp. However, she let him adjust her position. "There, now,BEGIN!"
Jace backed up giving them space to fight. "BUT!you haven't even shown me how." Katriel panicked not seeing Tyler's fist, before it hit her square on the jaw. Pain flooded her cheek,as she stumbled back in shock. Even Tyler winced on her behalf.
"That's how you'll learn. And now you know the first, don't take your eye of your opponent."Jace said, going into leader mode but still wincing internally noticing Katriel's cheek beginning to form a bruise.
"Are you kidding me? It's like throwing someone who doesn't know how to swim in the deep end and expect them to float."Katriel gave him an incredulous look, holding the cheek that received the punch.
"Basically yes."Jace deadpanned before looking between Tyler and Katriel before nodding.
"Again."Jace instructed crossing his arms.
Katriel huffed reading her stance like Jace had taught her. Tyler nodded before throwing a punch at her, this time she threw herself aside, dodging the blow by an inch.
Tyler tried to elbow her but she quickly avoided it and kneed him in the gut,she felt like a freaking boss.
"AHA!"Katriel basked in her glory, turning to face Jace with a grin, hands on her hips in a victory pose, for about 2 seconds, before receiving a kick to her back. The minute his foot connected with her back, she tumbled to the ground groaning. "Son of a goat lamp." She rolled to her side mumbling incoherent words shutting her eyes in pain.
"Damn Katriel, all you had to do was not take your eyes of your opponent...You alright." Tyler asked getting on one knee in front of her, Jace doing the same next to him. "No. No I am not. You kicked me!" Katriel whined wincing as she sat up to face them.Tyler couldn't help but chuckle at her weak attempt at a glare. Jace barely hiding his smile looking at her,"How about,we start with the basics."
Katriel gave him an incredulous stare,"...ugh. Yeah, sure, great idea."She scoffed touching her back before groaning, that was definitely going to form a bruise,"please tell me I won't be getting a lot of these."
Tyler chuckled,"Not if you follow our instructions. Jace here is the best teacher there is."
"Ok,can I have a hand standing up?" Katriel asked letting out a defeated sigh. Jace rolled his eyes, standing up before giving the girl a hand."Let's start with punches."
Tyler snorted,"If you can." Directing the comment at her grinning.Jace rolled his eyes at the comment but couldn't help but grin slightly. "I CAN!.....try." Katriel shrugged defeated pouting,in Jace's opinion adorably."Ok,get into the fighting stance,"Jace instructed taking a step back from the two. Katriel rolled her shoulders getting into a proper stance smirking at Tlyer. A chuckle erupted from Tlyer as he took a step forward shaking his head. "Take a swing at me."Tyler ordered reading his stance as well.
