“Could you please repeat that part about the thing that you just said? I kinda drifted off a little bit. Just a little bit.” Vic said, for the hundredth time today with the same smirk that he had glued on his face almost the entire time that I was teaching him. I was getting really frustrated and tired but of course, him being my boss’ favorite nephew, I have to at least pretend that I still have full on patience with him.

“Okay.” I sighed before continuing. “Basically the company aims to provide..” I explained to him once more.

Most of the time, I was looking down at the papers that was set down in front of me, pointing at the important words and graphs that he needed to fully absorb and understand. Vic on the other hand, seems to have long lost his interest with whatever I was babbling about and decided to turn his attention on me, for whatever reason. He has been staring at me the entire time. Nodding occasionally but I could tell that he was just doing that for the sake of making it seem like he’s actually paying attention with the words that was spilling out from my mouth. It was very uncomfortable, to say the least. Something is really off with this man, I just couldn’t quite put my finger on it. I shrugged the thoughts away and carried on with, hopefully, feeding his mind with information that his uncle wanted me to give him.

“This is awfully uninteresting.” Vic finally blurted out after a handful of time staring at me.

“What?”

“This is awfully uninteresting.” He repeated himself, shrugging off his shoulders and slouching on his chair.

“Not trying to be rude or anything but, you should’ve told me that long before we even go to this part about-“

“Shush, Kells. For once just, I don’t know.. Chill or something.” He said and grabbed the papers that were scattered in front of us and began piling them up randomly, not even bothering to check the page numbers to organize them neatly. My eyebrows are furrowed and I was just watching him sloppily grabbing random papers. I am starting to feel my temper raging on inside me. After spending almost three straight hours of continues enunciating, specifically me doing all the talking, this is what he decided to do? Mess up the papers and tell me to chill? And don’t even get me started with the nickname that he is using for me.

“Again, Mr. Fuentes, I am not trying to be rude or anything but you can’t just do this.” I said while pointing a finger on the papers. “Don’t tell me that I just wasted time and effort for hours just for you to tell me that you find everything that I am telling you ‘uninteresting’ and then, you would just mess up the papers and decided to ‘chill.’ I’ve been teaching you for four days now and if I were to quiz you about the stuff that I’ve been talking about, for sure you wouldn’t be able to give me at least one correct answer.” I countered him, letting out my rage in the most professional way that I could muster up. He is my boss now, so I guess I should really watch what I am saying and be careful on how I converse with him.

“Kells,” He spoke as he tapped the papers on the table, making sure that they are neatly stacked up. “First off, you can call me Vic. Second, you clearly didn’t just waste your time and effort. I just told you that what you are teaching me are flatly uninteresting but that doesn’t mean that you aren’t interesting.” He said, a grin formed on his face. He stood up from his chair that was situated from the other side of the table and lazily dragged it on the other side, next to me.

“W-What do you mean?” I asked as he sat down, facing me.

“This is uninteresting,” He said and pointed a finger on the papers. “But you, are very interesting.” He said and brought his thumb to caress my cheek. That gesture did nothing to me but give me strong goose bumps. I do not know what he is trying to imply here but my mind was panicking. Never have I ever experience this gesture from a man. It’s weird.
